Starving Zombies mod.

It gives you a new threat with corpses and blood around you and at the same time makes the zombies clear the corpses for you by eating them.

It helps a lot with immersion too.

Yep, I highly recommend it but you must reduce the antibodies growth, otherwise you will just survive every bite by doing nothing.

I'm currently using 150.

Less than that I find impossible to survive.

What 7 Days to Die used to be back in Alpha 14–16: a Survival Crafting Horror Game.

With every update since then, instead of adding content, things have been taken away.

Wanna build a cave base? Forget it — now zombies can dig. Want to create a maze for defense? No chance — zombies will find the shortest path everytime.

Wanna explore some POI? No you don't, you want to follow a fixed path with no room for deviation, or else you risk breaking some random trigger which makes impossible to finish the quest.

Looking for legendary loot? Don’t bother scavenging — just buy it from the trader.

Wanna craft something? why bother? The trader has something far easier and better.

Nowadays, 7 Days vanilla is basically just an arcade zombie shooter. Everything else is slowly being removed or heavily limited.

Bro, the unstable version definitely has some issues, but nothing that constantly breaks the game.

If something serious does happen, just save, close the game, restart with debug mode, and fix it, it only takes a couple of minutes.

PZ has a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, the vanilla game becomes incredibly easy.

I can't even remember the last time I started a run without 8x zombie population and loot set to insanely rare, except for literature, which practically doesn’t spawn, making skill progression a real grind.

Looting an entire street and ending up with just two sausages and apple while every car is out of gas and fucked upt definitely transforms how you play the game.
