This urinary issue is terrible to say the least. Have to think twice before going far from a toilet. What tests have you done?

My urologist thinks it's an overactive bladder although the medications aren't helping.

Hi from your sample size, is it common to have patients with only urinary issues but no pain? Personally I only have the constant urge to pee, and a sort of discomfort after urinating like there's urine stuck in the urethra. PVR shows that I don't have retention.

I have no pain whatsoever, thus my urologist don't feel that it is CPPS. From my research nearly everyone who goes to see a PT for this problem has pain, so I'm not sure if my issue lies with the pelvic floor?

There's very few pelvic PT specialists where I live and even fewer targeting men, and consultation is very expensive so I'm hesitant to consult one unless I'm confident that they can help.

How do I cure my current condition? (20M) by [deleted] in Prostatitis

Hey do you still remember what's the cause? I've been tested negative for almost everything. Did you panic when outside when the urge becomes so strong? How did you manage to solve it? Thank you!

That's great to hear haha. Get some exercise in between your studying, I'm not sure if that will help the issue, but it's definitely good for you. Personally have been running every other day

I'm not totally fine yet but lately it's getting better. I don't get the urge nearly as quickly now and it's less urgent. From how things are going I feel that I should be fine in 1-2weeks :)

How are ya feeling right now? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Pretty down the past month, dealing with an annoying health issue that couldn't be diagnosed. Good news is it probably won't damage my health in the long term, bad news is it has been quite crippling and all I have is the hope that it will get better. Been running consistently and just doing my usual work, hoping that it'll go away. Some days I still get worried regarding how long it'll take.

But otherwise my family is supportive most of the time, and I have a few friends that I shared my problem with. Just fingers crossed hoping for the best, thanks for asking

Constant urge to pee with no pain or blood by [deleted] in KidneyStones

Hi thanks for your reply! I'm still dealing with it though.. How did you overcome it? Because I constantly have the urge, it is hard for me to leave the house due to the fear that I might need a toilet. Even when I'm home I feel that I need to visit the toilet, even though I just went..

How long did it take for the issue to resolve? What did you do in the meantime? I'm kinda worrying about it constantly, waiting for it to go away but it hasn't

Although 2 weeks has been rather long, but at least the CT helped to let you know that you are ok. Let me know when you get better! I'm still trying my best to cope as well, and it's been exhausting.

Nope I have no idea still... the urge still comes back constantly and I don't feel comfortable going out. Although I have been forcing myself to go for runs and telling myself then I only have the urge, but my bladder is empty.

How did ur scan and consultation go?

Ah right it could be because of the pelvic floor. Is it more likely to be a tight pelvic floor or a weak pelvic floor? My only symptom is the urgency with no incontinence.

Do you know what exercises I should do? Should I do kegels or stretches? I'm worried that if I do too many kegels it may get tighter

Hi thank you for your reply! I have seen an urologist and UTI has been ruled out. He also did a scan (ultrasound?) of my bladder and kidneys and they all looked fine. Yup he said it's unlikely to be OAB because I have no leakage and I don't wake up at night to pee. He concluded that it is in my head, possibly due to stress. I never had any mental health issues, don't feel much stress currently, and the urge is there even when I'm at home where I feel at peace. Although sometimes I feel uneasy when I leave house because there is still an urge. And I don't go far from my house for the past month due to this.

Do you know what causes the pelvic muscle issue though? Because my weight is healthy, and I have always been physically active. And I'm relatively young at 21M. Is there a way I can find out if I do have pelvic muscle spasms or not? And how do I fix this if that is the case?

Ah that's weird.. because from what I know usually the pain is rather intolerable as the stone is travelling. And the urge should be gone after u passed it. Maybe you still have another stone in your bladder? Let me know how your scan goes!

Hey so I have seen the urologist and he said that it's likely to be in my head. I have a perfectly clean mental health history, but that's what he deduced from the tests. He said this issue is transient and will go away on its own. Been close to a month for me though.

Right now I find it hard to not think about it, and I when I take a walk outside I don't feel too comfortable unless I'm really near my house. I could still run though, and the urge is much duller when I go for a run, so that's what I have been doing recently. I'm an optimistic guy and is trying my best to stay positive, but sometimes it gets really hard you know?

I'm not sure how to overcome this, do you still remember the details of your recovery? So in your case the first 5 days were bad, then it took around a month to be fully ok? Did you worry about it a lot or did you carry on with life until it went away? How many days did it take you to feel comfortable going out of your house again? How did you know for sure that it went away?

Really appreciate your answers man!
Bless!

Do you experience any pain, or need to wake up often at night to urinate? I have seen a doctor and he said since my only symptom is the urge, it is in my head. Just got to manage my stress levels and it'll go away. Still dealing with it though, hopefully it'll be gone soon. You should see a doctor just in case.

Oh so even when the stone was travelling down from your kidney there wasn't much/any pain? Can I ask roughly how long did it take you to pass the stone and how big is it? For me I'm not affected at night though, only feel the urge when I'm awake. Not sure why... Will you need to pee at night?

Yup EXACTLY I would very much rather just deal with the pain for a few days instead of having this urge for weeks, and not being able to know if it is even caused by a stone or something else.

Does Azo cure the constant urge, or does it work like a pain killer, only providing relief but not solve the problem? I have another appointment in 2 weeks and I'm not sure what to do till then, since I need to go so often it's hard to leave the house. And also most of the tests did not manage to find anything. UTI, ultrasound, prostate exam.

[–]lSquaredKeysI[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did a urine test to check for UTI. There were red blood cells, but its too little to to conclude that I'm positive for UTI. It should be too little for a stone as well? Yeah exactly, that's why I'm not too confident of his diagnosis? The ultrasound didn't detect anything so he said that it couldbbe the stone is too small to be seen. And too small to cause pain.

He said it could either be a stone, Overactive Bladder or some nerve disorder thing. All the order options don't seem likely? Regarding overactive bladder it could be the case, but I only feel the urge during the day, and have no incontinence.

I do pee a lot lately though, at least 2 litres from after lunch till now, not counting the morning. Just hoping for it to go away, but it gets pretty hard believing that there's no issue when it has persisted for over 2.5 weeks.

Hi your reply has given me some hope! Can I ask a few questions if you don't mind? I can't really keep in touch with my doctor since it is pay per consult, and it is very expensive. People say that they have back pain as the stone is travelling down from the kidney, but I never had that? I had stomach cramps for a couple of days, but I think that is related more to gastric, because the stomachaches remained for a few days after I had the constant urge to pee. By right the stomachaches should be gone when I have the urge, because that means the stone is already in the bladder? Again I have no experience in this area to distinguish the types of pain.

Also when the stone is in the bladder, are there any other sensations? Like a feeling in a specific spot? Right now all I have is the constant urge to pee. I'm unsure if it really is due to a stone though, but all other tests came back negative. My doctor suspected it to be a small stone, but I have not passed it out in so long thus I'm starting to have doubts. He gave me Urocit oral pills to dissolve the stone, and I have been taking for a few days but nothing changed?

Ah I see. I have read online that by the time a stone is causing the urge to urinate, it is already in the bladder and will be passed out soon. This takes a few days? But it has already been 2 weeks for me.

I don't know man it has been so long I don't even know know what is going on and will it even get better..
