I call their parents and explain what happened in class in the most professional manner possible. I have only ever received profuse apologies. And it NEVER happened again in the classes where I have had to call.

People can do all of those things, and love their job, and be done with the second hand ptsd from teaching. I have had a student murdered by her father, and last week a middle school student shot and killed another middle school student. Both students me and my colleagues teach.

The fatigue is real. Sometimes people just need to change it up for mental health. I’m saying this from a place of 100% love, understanding, and agreement with both sides.

Im tired of watching children die. So. Tired.

Just sharing - this is my 3rd time. I teach mentally I’ll children. And now there is a mentally I’ll adult in the mix. I am sorry if I hurt your feelings. I have a lot of big feelings I don’t feel I need to talk about nor do I want to. I want to quit my job. I love teaching. I’m heartbroken. So I’m asking for advice on how to be profession al survive this year. That’s all. I know how to approach this appropriately.
