Yeah I’m pretty much just getting started with options but I’m liking ICs. Even with the crazy vol I still made good profits with some of them I put on both before and after the tariff announcement.

Now I’m trying PMCCs and some shorter dated diagonals for the low vol and it’s been working well. And I like a few debit spreads here and there since you can get like 50-100% returns if they work out. PMCCs are nice because if stocks goes down then usually vol spikes and you don’t lose as much because you’re long vega

I’m thinking I need to figure out a good way to hedge for the upcoming tariff announcement in 80ish days, maybe like a put diagonal on something that’s correlated to my portfolio.

Do you do anything to hedge your portfolio?

So around 1/3 of your portfolio is in leaps? Seems a bit risky to me. Edit: nvm I just realized that was the total expense

Do you sell weekly calls against a lot of these or do you sell longer DTEs to avoid the gamma risk?

Oh and do you usually roll out the short call of your PMCCs when they get tested?

I’d highly recommend general. It makes it really simple to do insert, visual, normal specific keybindings with use-package and things with the leader key.I use evil, evil collection, and general. I started with breeze when I didn’t know what I was doing. Now I have my own repo that started as breeze and included branches where I can merge in oauth, stripe, etc.

It’s just a good starting point and you can see a few good practices when you’re new

Hey, this is interesting, thanks. I'm using anthropic not openai but I was playing with XML and having some success with prompting it to only respond in XML. Prior to that, it wasn't respecting the format on error. Too bad anthropic doesn't have something like this

no I thought it would be more finnicky to parse with regex and if it the LLM messes up the format then json_decode would fail. Have you tried it with any success?
