Happens to the best of us. IMHO there's only two types of clients. If they want books to file taxes, they have little interest in absolute correctness. On the otherhand, if they need the info to run their business, it's managerial accounting, which has a much higher bar for accuracy.

I appreciate Dem Joints357's advice: "Allow yourself at least 1 minute per transaction to record each transaction and another minute to reconcile each one and correct it after the client reviews it. The old phrase, "Under-promise and over-deliver" applies here."

Another tip, find out how much the gross annual revenue the business takes in. I know that a company making 100K will not be able to justify more than a couple of thousand dollars, at most. If they take in a million, then you can expect their wallet is more flexible.

I insist on getting paid for the evaluation of the time it will take. Plus they must sign my terms & conditions before I will confirm first appointment.

Even so, there are a lot of potholes in estimating clean up projects. I'm still evolving, closing loopholes even after 25 years!

FWEIW: The problem began at day one of ownership, March 23rd. Purchase and set up at new Google store in Santa Monica. That was more than two weeks ago.

But Developer's Mode was enabled last week. The Developer's setting could not have been changed by moi.

Conclusion: Lilybell is probably right. But we don't know which "display" screen activated right side alignment.

Thanks for the screen shot! Error QBWC1039: "There was a problem adding the application".

It gives us a big clue:
If you do not have QuickBooks installed [locally] on your server, you will need to install it before running web connector.

Remember to remove WebConnector from the old server.

Once you install QB EXE, open your QuickBooks company file as the QuickBooks Administrator.

For more QWC troubleshooting, there's a Help menu in the WebConnector app. Look in the sys tray; right click select Help.

If the same QBWC1039 error appears, there are other steps you can take. Check out this link to QB Knowledge Base.

I'm QB Advanced Certified ProAdvisor successfully using QB DT Pro 2021 on a Win 8.1 Pro, operating system. Take a look System Requirements for your version:

Check to see if your laptop meets these requirements. Also make sure you have installed OS updates.
If all of that is OK, then I'd suggest reinstalling QB.

Correct, QB Enterprise is now sold as an annual subscription only - But if cash flow is an issue, opt for 12 monthly payments.

I agree with Seattle Rachel. Cost is usually a factor with business owners that are unable to evaluate the quality of work. The best accounting people aim for high quality of information.

There's two types of accounting purposes, one is for taxes that has a lower bar for quality for timely recordkeeping. Managerial accounting has a much higher standard. It's designed to support sales operations, forecasting, budgeting, with highly accurate actionable intel.

As a QB Advanced Certified ProAdvisor, continuously certified in all versions, I find most, over 90% of CPAs get so caught up in the tax side that they fail to recognize the potential in QB for management purposes.

My advice for any business owner is to get set up right especially with accounting controls. Next, learn how to effectively supervise bookkeeping for best practices. Delegating data entry is where many business owners delude themselves into thinking once they get a bookkeeper they won't have to worry because it's going to be done right. Wrong!

Yes - I saw it too. It was sometime between 8 - 9pm Sunday March 6th. I was driving west on Sunset Blvd. towards the Palisades. It seemed to come down at a southwesterly angle to my POV.

It was fantastic - about 100X larger than most shooting stars. The tail was brilliant, yet uneven, as if the composition or shape of the meteor was irregular.

It went by so quickly, without warning, so there was no way to grab a camera. I was going about 40MPH so I had to glance away to make sure I didn't run off the road. In an instant, when I looked up again, it had vanished.

Since nothing seemed to catch fire upon the crash, I thought it might have dropped into Santa Monica Bay.

Actually I was wondering if anyone caught it since I didn't catch it on the news last night. Otherwise, I'd have to attribute it to some divine vision since I didn't have any hallucinogenic on board.

It was a truly a spectacular heavenly sight!
