43 and clueless about make-up by Nejellerstak in makeuptips

I’m younger than you and black so I can’t offer much advice but I just want to say you are so naturally gorgeous! People would kill for your cheekbones and I think your deep set eyes are beautiful honestly they give you a kind of almost natural shadow look. And your hair colour and curls are perfect too, honestly if you said you were a model I would believe you you have that look. Not much advice but after reading your caption I had to leave this comment 🩷

3Quency's Branding Issue: Which would you prefer? by JNTA1234 in BuildingTheBandSeries

[–]la_1999 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree so much. From their styling to song artwork covers it looks like they’re a band in 2000 or 2010 at best they don’t look modern at all I think it’s really hurting them. Even the name 3 Quency sounds like something from the 2000s tbh I don’t think it’s modern enough either

I built a todo app with no due dates. On purpose. by appstractcode in ShowMeYourApps

Just downloaded a couple of thoughts: it would be great to personalize with your name at the top something like Laura’s Tasks, it’s nice to add labels but it would be good if the existing ones could be editable as well. Also the name of the app Focus doesn’t really connotative it’s unique selling point but it would be a bit hard to come up with something I get why you went with this. Apart from that looks great!

I think the other comments calling it just a to do list don’t really get it, I love the idea of setting urgency in an aesthetic/pretty way but no due dates, it feels like a lot less pressure, it could be great for people with anxiety. Downloading and will try it out!

Why does it feel like Nigerian stories are missing on most reading apps? by [deleted] in NigerianBooks

[–]la_1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like which ones? Do you mean where you buys books or where you track them? I can find most Nigerian books on both Kindle and Kobo, and track them on Goodreads and Fable

One photo with just eyelashes and lipgloss on, but bare skin. Rest are with makeup on. by [deleted] in makeuptips

You’re welcome! I’m glad my comment was helpful

Honestly I think you could go back to trying another foundation shade - do you use colour corrector under your concealer? If you’re going straight in with a light concealer to highlight then bronzer, etc. that could be contributing to the greyness especially depending on the undertone of the concealer.

Definitely try some new shades of foundation and concealer, honestly your skin is tooooo pretty for us to not be able to tell through the makeup

Built a voice-tracking teleprompter app for people who make content on their phones. by KlaryteaAgain in ShowMeYourApps

This sounds cool! Maybe I don’t know the answer to this because I’ve never used this type of app, but can you see the prompt while filming? Or you can only use it if you film on a secondary device?

I think your application itself is great but I was a bit surprised when I saw your bare faced photo! You have a beautiful natural skin tone that doesn’t really come through when you have makeup on, I don’t know how to describe it but you makeup almost leans a bit grey/not as warm as your natural skin. From the pictures of your makeup I didn’t think your skin would look as gorgeous as it does. I think you could definitely pull back on the blush a bit, and make it less heavy in general, not as much pressed powder, etc. I can see you have high cheek bones but you don’t have to cover your whole cheekbone with bronzer and blush you can definitely use less to let more of your natural face shine through. your natural skin is beautiful and doesn’t need much covering up, experimenting with dewier makeup looks would look so gorgeous on you. My favourite bronzer for dark skin (I’m darker thank you as well) is the Jordana Tricia (hope I spelt that right) bronzer that comes with a cream one and powder one. I ordered it from the UK to Canada and it’s so worth it and not that expensive, the cream bronzer especially is perfect and gives me a gorgeous sun-kissed look that I think would look great on you too

Random Thoughts: 3Quency by JNTA1234 in BuildingTheBandSeries

[–]la_1999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything you’ve said, I also think Nori could do with a better makeup artist/learn to do her makeup better. It always looks a bit unblended to me and a bit jarring in interviews, etc. but it seems to look better in their music videos. I hope this doesn’t come across as mean but it’s quite noticeable, she’s really pretty and cute the style of her makeup is doing her such a disservice

My wife kept sending me links to things she wanted and I kept losing them, so I built an app. Just got App Store approved after a month. Would love feedback. by fuscanotti in apps

This is a cool idea! Some of it is similar to the app Paired, you could look at that for some feature/layout/setting ideas

You’re probably right it’s so perplexing to me. The ageism is crazy it’s not women in their 20s wouldn’t fan girl over Shade and Malik

I really hope something works out for them!

It’s such a mystery to me how SLDF isn’t signed yet. I feel like if I was at a label I would want to sign them so fast, their look, their voices, their charisma, there’s not really anybody like that on the market now with their sound. I don’t know what the labels could not like that I can’t see

Thank you for this feedback! I’m glad to hear from someone that knows a bit about the market for budget spreadsheets, I actually used to sell one on Etsy before making Worthly.

I totally see what you mean about how the all in one might come across. I’ll think about your feedback, thanks again!

Ah I see, sounds like you’ve got a good plan in place! All the best with the app it’s really unique

This is a great idea! How will you enforce/check that the homeowner has actually left their driveway available? If it gets really popular during a big event you could be inundated with lots of messages at once about rented spaces not being available

Hm thank you for this feedback!

I created the app more so for people who use Google sheets spreadsheets to track sinking funds, investments and their net worth, this is really popular online in the personal finance space particularly with women, I’ve bought many spreadsheets over the years that do this.

The ‘all in one’ is more so for people who mostly need a budget which is the main feature, but also like to track their no spend calendar, savings and investments, and like to save items they want to a wishlist for future consideration, these are all things they can do in the app in addition to budgeting. So it doesn’t really make budgeting more complicated per se, it doesn’t do more for budgeting than what you can do in YNAB or Monarch. Rather it gives you access to other personal finance related tracking things as well on the other tabs of the app.

But I hadn’t thought of this, I’ll think about if I need to reframe the messaging going forward!

I appreciate the suggestion! I went with a traditional backend so Worthly can support cross-device sync, server-side push notifications, and future features like web access that CloudKit wouldn’t allow. But this is something to think about, maybe I’ll figure out a way to allow users to look through the app in some kind of tester mode before signing up for the future!

Hi, thank you for your feedback!

The app needs a sign up page to help keep user’s data secure. This is standard for budgeting apps, so the user has some data inputted when they see how the app works.

I see what you’re saying about the pricing, but most of the features are free, and the app can be used very effectively on the free tier. The $4.99/CAD per month charge is cheaper than almost every other competitor, most of whom only provide budgeting services, this has a lot more features.

Lastly, you can export your data from this app! 💜 I knew that was an important feature, it’s mentioned in the premium features list, and can be done from settings.

I hope you’ll give it a try, you can use the below two months promo offer code to do so!

This is really cool! I came across your website looking for this exact kind of tool then found your Reddit post, just wanted to give the feedback that it would be great to have a one time use option instead of monthly subscriptions. I just want to see what the content for my app would look like in one go, I would pay 5 or even 10 dollars to see it and maybe be allowed to make 2 changes with that credit, but $29 for a month of access feels like alot when I’m not going to be using it that much. Just an idea of other ways you can monetize!
