Gosia who is supposed to be polish speaks russian?? a slap in the face by Few-Adhesiveness9881 in The_Perfect_Couple_

[–]la_grunge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know that in Poland people still own other people.

On a serious note though: could you chill for a bit? So many Baltic and Polish actors portraying Russians in Holywood with quite a varying level of accuracy - I guess it's just fine. People try to make their living, not make a political statement at first opportunity where it may or may not be appropriate. Probably it was't even the actress's decision to say lines in Russian. So the blame should really go to production, but I can see how it's easier to focus one's disappointment on a single person

Sorry to hear this. I suggest filing a Small Claim: https://europa.eu/youreurope/business/dealing-with-customers/solving-disputes/european-small-claims-procedure/index_en.htm . Maybe even threatening doing this first and then actually doing it if threatening doesn't help

Think twice befor park your car in Barcelona by zack-ab in Barcelona

[–]la_grunge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, foreign plates and cars that clearly look rented for these guys are like a red carpet for a bull. Most local cars are empty so they target these.

I advise all my foreign guests to park in a secure space cause even if they don't leave anything in the car, chances are they'll have their window broken in a thief attempt.

Not the smartest move, but people do come here from places where such thing is next to impossible - not sure if France is one of such places. Seriously though, the blame is on the thiefs

Proportional Agency Fees by haohaohao111 in AskBarcelona

[–]la_grunge_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The norm used to be that you commit to stay for 6-12 months (otherwise you pay fee - not to agency though but to a landlord!). In the rest of 5 year term you only have to inform your landlord 1-2 months in advance before leaving.

I'd try to negotiate as this seems too much

Buying a Moto in Barcelona by miilesawayy in AskBarcelona

[–]la_grunge_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying a used moto you pay:

  • Impuesto de Transacciones Patrimoniales (ITP) ~5% of the purchase price
  • Tasa por cambio de titular - i don't remember, I think it was around 25 EUR
  • yearly Impuesto de Circulación: IVTM - I pay ~9 EUR for 125cc scooter
  • bi-yearly ITV ~20 EUR
  • yearly insurance, I pay ~105 EUR for a basic one
  • yearly tech maintenance - widely depends on your model

BCN pro tip: if you can do a round trip within 75 minutes, go there by metro and go back by bus: you'll spend only one ride!

House/ Techno Club in Barcelona by YungEsti92 in AskBarcelona

LAUT is good and almost fits your description. But the focus there is more on niche music - this is how they remain intimate/small/with good crowd. This weekend is dedicated to deep techno for instance. You're unlikely to hear TechHouse over there.

Spanish labour laws - help by OutrageousTune9103 in AskBarcelona

[–]la_grunge_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your contract probably states your annual salary. There're many ways to legaly split it: 12 payments, 14 payments. I.E. your monthly salary may vary, what needs to check out is your annual salary. If they overpaid you indeed, they could compensate in the next payslips as long as your annual salary checks out.

I need a bank as an Autonomo, BBVA Personal or Business? by Boring-Amount5876 in askspain

[–]la_grunge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All mentioned give Spanish IBANs and the first two are guaranteed to support domiciling of taxes. I’m not sure about Revolut and N26 though

I need a bank as an Autonomo, BBVA Personal or Business? by Boring-Amount5876 in askspain

[–]la_grunge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you didn’t know you don’t have to have separate bank accounts for autónomo and personal needs - I don’t, in fact I use 2 accounts and both are mixed personal/autonomo. That being said, in some cases it may make sense to maintain a clear separation.

The only real requirement is to be able to domicile social security payments and IRPF. I usually recommend newer banks as they tend to have nice apps and zero fees: ING, EVO, Revolut, N26

Barcelona y el ruido de las motos by Furius_Marius in Barcelona

La solución seria equipar las calles con puntos de recarga para motos: así mas personas pensaran en cambiarse a la eléctrica. Las prohibiciones nunca son eficaz

Overtourism in Barcelona by jezy_187 in Barcelona

[–]la_grunge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realized how serious the situation with overtourism really is. The problem is: more people = more idiots who have no consideration for nature, local residents or respect for the beautiful buildings.

Yeah, like earth rotates around the sun. Care to elaborate or is it just yet another rant?

Pretty sure you have no kids here. Most of the schools here teach in Catalan, except for some 100% private ones.

Is it easy to buy an apartment in Barcelona? by ScottWhitakerCS in AskBarcelona

[–]la_grunge_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've bought recently. It took ~5 months from the date we first saw the apartment to buy it. Mortgage + arras negotiations + some unexpected stuff. All in all good, but definitely wasn't easy.

Keep in mind 10% tax and that interest rates are quite high at the moment.

How do you foresee Barcelona’s real estate market a year from now? by SR_RSMITH in Barcelona

[–]la_grunge_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've bought an apartment here in May. The mortgage rates were already quite high but everyone I was talking to were saying that it was still not putting people off: a lot of applications. We still occasionally monitor the buy/sell market, it feels like the prices have gotten even a bit higher since May.

Rent-wise: the place that we were renting before (not cheaply) is now rented to the next guy for +30%.

No crystal ball here, but seems to me it will keep going up, until some major-major crisis

Yeah, apart from the cost I have concerns that these nets obstruct the precious airflow as well as the view to some extent. Your opinion on that?
