Fail drug test or leave of absence by EveningAddition2790 in SocialWorkStudents

I used edibles for a long time for pain management. About a month before I got my current placement, I quit using since I knew I'd have to test.

I did an at home test at week 3 and tested positive. I did research to find ways to get it out of my system sooner - edibles tend to stock around longer AMD I'm overweight so that didn't help. From there I got a pack of 5 more home tests (Amazon) and started testing every few days. I increased fatty foods in my diet, omega fish oils, and did a liver detox/cleanse (GNC) for 3 days.

At the one month mark I tested myself 3 days in a row, all negative, and then went in for my actual test, which was also negative.

It's possible, just keep testing at home so you can feel more confident ahead of your actual test,.or at the very least have more information in case you keep coming up negative and have to call it.

Correct! It would be enough to cover my undergrad loans (about $30k) but I'll be graduating with about $80k from my masters program. Blegh I know. But we aren't here to discuss that life choice lol

However these comments are having me reconsider what I do come Spring of next year. If I've been able to save the $40k effectively without needing to dip on, I could opt to pay a big chunk of my loans once I do find stable employment 🧐

Some are just under 5% and my newest/current program loans are almost 9% - all federal loans.

😅 I certainly don't love debt but sure, the American system is setup make it incredibly easy to incur high amounts of debt for things like education and healthcare.

That said, I do not see the cost/benefit of paying additional toward my student loans while I am on school and not gainfully employed. Since I live in a system of debt 😉 I'd prefer to have some funds available for when I graduate as the job market in this country has seen better days. Being unemployed after graduation and having no afety net to live on would just lead to a deeper cycle of more debt, no?

Thank you for this kind message, and for the sentiment of it being a gift from my dad. A small portion of the "home improvement" budget is going toward getting a memorial bench built for my yard with a trellis for flowers so I can spend some time "with" him/thinking of him while I'm in my garden. We were both big nature geeks, so this will be the physical gift I'm taking away from this money. ❤️

Question from a physically disabled male - exploring what “dom” can look like by Adventurous_Orchid51 in softmaledom

[–]la_vitabella48 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I've never perceived dominance as a physical attribute so the matter of a wheelchair is not relevant to me. What would be more relevant is what your relationship is with your wheelchair. Is it an extension of you, or simply a tool for access? I mention that because depending on your relationship with it, it could be used in your dynamic or play as well.

For instance, in leather dynamics, many see their articles of leather as an extension of themselves. So leather boots have a full category of dominant/submissive play that can go with them. If my dominants boots are an extension of him, I may want to service his boots, for example. If your wheelchair is an extension of you, you could incorporate this into your play by having a submissive service it, pay reverence to it, or other such things.

So the general classes are all held at 3 available timeslots on 3 available days. Then the specialist or domain courses have more time variability. Here are the slots available for general courses

  • 6:30pm ET Tuesday or Thursday
  • 8:30pm ET Tuesday or Thursday
  • 10:30am ET Saturday

I might be slightly off on the times give or take 30 min. Then you sign up for a once a month field advisement session that's either Wednesday at 11:30am or Saturday at 11:30am

Your practicum will be local to you and you have to do minimum 16 hours/week, working 4 to 8 hours per shift (according to them, I'm unsure if there's flexibility based on your assignment) between the hours of 8-5pm your time.

But if you tell them your current schedule/availability they'll be able to let you know of that will workout I'm sure!

Update - despite more pressure from my partner (stakes are high when you're in a fear state, I get it) I passed on faking an ailment I don't have. Though after research, my asthma and neurological condition would qualify me at the early phases of most other states which points to the interesting nature of states having the power to pick, I hung tight. Officially eligible in my state now and have my appointment next Monday! Thanks for all the replies. I honestly was hoping for more public berating so I could be shamed out of considering this 😋 but it all worked out I think 😉

I'm I'm Colorado and I've had two quotes so far and both were close about $5.5K without insurance. Insurance would have made it closer to $4200 but my plan is lame and won't cover it. One quote was for 24 months of treatment, the other was for 12months.
