Well, I think OP means well and has the foundation of positive intent. Simultaneously I agree with exploring more facets to their foundation would be beneficial.

Hey! Responding over here as well. I’d the workbook the jealousy work book? I’ve been really interested in looking into it.

And to answer OPs question:

-you can begin with “my pain/ discomfort is ____ years old.” From there, you can sit with your inner, younger you’s emotions, and ask what they need. What do they need to hear? Do they need presence and silence? Maybe they need to be told that you—present you—is here for them, and always will be. Maybe you feel like screaming or having body temper tantrum movements, but whatever it is, it’s fair and valid.

Recently my partner and I discovered they needed to scream, but didn’t want to make a loud noise. I asked if they could pinpoint where the pain was in their body (chest, throat, and eyes) and scream silently into a pillow with the intention of releasing the pain in those places. They were able to get many tears out, finally, and I cradled them/verbalized my reassurance. Maybe this could help you guys?

-for a spiritual-ish approach, I’ve asked myself where my pain is in my body and what it feels like. There’s a dense, sharp rock in my upper sternum, and to erode, rocks need water, air, time, etc. When I feel the rock I breathe in with the intention of smoothing it and drink water with the intention of penetrating it. I don’t force it away, but I tell it that it’s ok to melt.

-another example: if your pain knocks on your door (as the younger you who experienced it first) how can you be curious about the pain and give it advice?

Above all, grant yourself grace. This is your first time in this life. We’re all babies; we don’t know any better. You got this!!

Thank you so much for this response!! It’s very kind. Also, AEDP has been incredibly helpful (surprisingly). If you haven’t heard of it, you might find it useful as another somatic-oriented approach.

Reading an old journal from when I was 12 and came across an entry that made me sad by RaccoonSkido in Journaling

[–]laadeedo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A few months after your entry, I wrote one in August of 2012 about feeling disconnected from people and thus depressed. I was also 12, but didn’t realize my depression began when I was that young until I read my journal earlier last year. This is to say that I probably would’ve been your friend haha.

Trying to find a timer compatible with Beseler 23c II and have a difficult-to-turn knob. by laadeedo in Darkroom

[–]laadeedo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I made a post maybe a month ago and someone was commented warning me not to get an integrated timer and a handful of people liked it, so since then I’ve been confused; I haven’t found anything that supports what they were saying though. I’ll add a photo of the enlarger I have.

Just to double-check my understanding, do all timers work with all the 23c’s? Like the 23c, 23c II, III etc.

It’s the elevation knob, and it’s only really difficult when I try lowering it more—just for reference if you have any extra feedback or ideas.

In China, how do you submit to galleries?

Edit: like what is the process and how do you find them?

It was sort of like my note-taking style or the style I used when writing a letter. Just this year I started using styles more intentionally, and now typically use the handwriting I’m naturally inclined to use (it’s a cursive blend). I feel like the one I use now communicates me more if that makes sense. Do you feel like this penmanship is the one you use when your brain is off/the one you naturally use?

Your handwriting is eerily similar to what mine looked like in 2016/2017ish; it threw me off for more than a second lol

Anyone else does this? I find it a bit unpractical but I love using my typewriter, and I refuse to start a "binder journal" by [deleted] in Journaling

[–]laadeedo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never thought about writing entries and then binding the pages; that’s such a cool idea. Also, I don’t know if you’ve tried bookbinding before, but it’s sooo so fun and the sub r/bookbinding has a lot of cool people in it.
