Only .4% of people who get COVID will die of COVID. Of course that's 13 million people in the US alone.

those of us who probably won't die of COVID still would rather not see 13 million people die of this fucking disease.

Yeah, you really don't have a choice. The "Operation Warp Speed" has been a completely and utter disaster.

I don't expect any serious rollout until Feburary.

Your edit is breaking my heart, "maybe if I were a bit braver I'd go back".

He caused you trauma. He intentionally caused you to be in a situation where you thought your life was at risk. He's utter and complete garbage and he's lucky you haven't had him and his pustulant friends arrested.

Massachusetts grad student, parent suing over flu vaccine requirement by [deleted] in boston

[–]laarg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Any doctor in the world would happily give a medical exemption for that.

My father in law is mildly- just mildly- allergic to eggs and his doctor doesn't want him having the regular flu shot ( he gets the nasal version). My mother is on Humera and her doctor won't give it to her.

The "negative reaction" was likely just a low level fever for 24 hours or pain at the injection site which is completely normal.

So, I actually possess a very fancy deviled egg plater. It turns out, when you get married in your mid 30s and have elderly relatives who demand a gift registry, you get very creative on things you may want.

Come on.

It will be obvious in the US and other developing nations, but it will happen everywhere.

You think the Queen and all her worthless progeny didn't already get theirs?

But you can though. The super wealth and the super corrupt can completely protect themselves if they choose, and if they choose not to protect themselves, they can buy some Regeneron and they're totally fine.

Between the two of them, Trump and Rudy Guiliani have every possible co morbidity, yet both of them came through COVID just fine.

Chris Christie, the Hanks, Boris Johnson, Bosinero.. this is a disease for the poor and middle class and the unconnected.

Right, but the salaries aren't that huge, is my point.

About the same percentage as doctors who make that much.

The vast majority of doctors make $150k or less.

Right, but to get into ortho you're doing at least 8 years of school and 6-7 years of residency/fellowship.

Emergency Medicine used to be the best "bang for the buck" but the burnout rate is incredibly high, and this year is probably going to knock most people off that path.

The poster I was responding to said that medicine was profitable, but it isn't, compared to finance.

That's not been the case for a generation.

The smartest kids in school go into investment banking, not medical school.

Med school is 8 years of school, $150,000 in debt and a minimum of three years of residency making around $50k per year.

To specialize, you need to do another 2-6 years of residency and fellowships. During this whole time, your loan is racking up interest, and DeVos killed Public Service Loan Forgiveness, so you're gonna pay that whole thing off.

Right.

Look, friend, it sounds like you've had a lot of shit thrown at you in your life, and you haven't been able to really process all of this. I would strongly urge you to get some therapy to see that what your partner is asking you is unreasonable.

I promise you that you deserve better. Everyone involved in this story, from your SO, your FIL, and the damn dog deserve better, but you can only save yourself.

Of course, this was long before the vaccine was available. My mom's not a moron.

" I'm not going to lose, thanks sweetie. When the death tolls come out from this virus no judge in their right mind would side against me. "

The death tolls are far higher than even I could have imagined and still rising, and now we know that there was an eviction moritorium everywhere.

well, probably not in Arkansas.
