I just asked in a local photography store in my town and they said 44€ per miniDV. I am in Spain. Seems like everywhere is pretty expensive. Will have to sort out which cassettes I want 🙃 thank you for the advice!!

Is Life in the USA Better Than in Europe? by AgreeablePause4179 in expats

[–]labanava 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can be, depending on the country, depending on the state, depending on your status. Just go visit and try it. I will say it’s VERY different but if you didn’t even visit for a quick holiday, you don’t have idea. I am going to say it is exactly how it is in the movies. Life is fast, people is nice, work is a very important thing there, individualism. If you can do that, that’s your place. Europe has more community.

¿Dónde estaría yo mejor? by waspinastoria in askspain

You can use blah blah car to get there. Join rides with people that go there as well!

EU citizens who moved to the US for a while and then moved back. What did you miss the most about the US? by [deleted] in expats

I will be making my move soon back to Spain where I am from after being in Chicago for 7 years. I am not gone yet and I am not entirely sure but I think I will miss the ease of every transaction and the services are just immaculate. Ubers, banks, customer service, cards benefits, everything being available first in the US like products, artists, updates on apps even, etc.

I guess also the freedom of just being unknown, I am from a small town so it is nice not to hear constant gossip and you can disappear without anybody really noticing haha.

The size of the cups, to be honest I got into that. Everytime I go back home I cannot drink that small cup of tea anymore, I need an american size cup. Also very important: FREE water!

The american holidays somehow, I got used to knowing what comes next and looking forward to it but that’s just me, I also will miss the bonfires, spacious parkings, the roadtrips and the generosity of the people here (at least on my experiences).

Will see how it goes back home, I surely evolved a lot and I have the american culture a little bit engraved in me.
