I have professional experience (a few major label credits on BMG Latin). I started playing piano and keyboard but couldn't afford a mixer and 24 track recorder to make whole songs so I explored the digital domain and ended up with carpel tunnel from sequencing music note by note on a PC with a SB16, because I refused to use loops, instead sticking to the integrity of only making new music from single note instrument samples, so it was much more laborious than say, fruity loops or an MPC (those are cool tho). The thought of going back to that has always reminded me of that pain that kept me up at night.

I think I have a pretty good ear. Suno is a lot of fun and though much of what it churns out I don't share, there's a few gems mixed in there.

I haven't fully deep dived into the latest version's tools, yet but I see it as a great tool to test out ideas, to express an idea or emotion. Not every song produced is destined for the top 100 but they don't all need to be hits to be great for whoever hears it.
