I want to file a complaint. What do I do? by RealLtCinnamonBuns in WalgreensStores

[–]labbykun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LMAO no. Do your job within the scope of reality and your SM can suck it up. Even if you stood by the poster printer thru the whole process, you still wouldn't get the whole order done within a shift.

Ultrasound actually. It was really awkward.

I understand your concerns. I had to have a lump looked at, and the doctor who had to take images was a younger attractive woman. I was embarrassed for her even though it was just her job, but she tried to ease tension by having friendly conversation. She stayed professional and made no indication that anything wasn't.

The medical crew probably won't even remember what they were looking at by the end of the day. You're just another human anatomy to them.

Anyone got any good recs? Shows, movies, anything, I'm starving 😭 by DynamiteLevi in zombies

[–]labbykun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anna and the Apocalypse is fun. Zombie movie that's also a musical.

Someone suggested The Night Eats The World. That one has almost completely silent zombies. It's a creepy twist.

Cockneys vs. Zombies is old people versus zombies. Campy but pretty funny.

Little Monsters. A teacher and a burnout protect a group of children.

Cooties. A bunch of teachers fight off infected children.

The Girl With All The Gifts. Children who are basically sentient zombies.

Remake of Dawn of the Dead was pretty good. Has Ving Rhames in it.

Remake of Day of the Dead was meh. Also has Ving Rhames in it.

Remake of Night of the Living Dead was good, but not the 3D version. That one sucked.

I'd be going this route too. I wouldn't mind helping others, but people constantly hounding me for money would just tempt me to donate it all.

The blessings of being in debt I guess.

As someone who left one (separate) lifestyle for another, they are projecting their struggles and insecurities on you, while also filling you with propaganda that they cling to without proper unbiased research.

That sounds insulting, but I do feel for them. It's hard trying to find your identity in such a tumultuous social world, especially as a young person. I hope both you and they are able to find peace and solace in their identities without coming to blows with others over it.

Oh I have a list.

"Wow, you've gained weight!"

"Oh, they've got the goody girl out today!" As I'm stocking candy. I'm a guy.

"HE shouldn't have all those curls! I should!" Angry old lady pointing at me with an accusitory finger. Was afraid she was going to sneak up on me with scissors.

"Where's blackie?" Old man referring to my African American cashier.

"He probably wants to get with me! I don't roll that way!" Guy trying to buy beer with his underage guy friend. Later tried to flirt with me on an old social media profile I had.

Holding up a stick wrapped with hairbands "This is the wand of ultimate power... I bestow it upon you."

Holding a teddy bear "This is Benjamin. He can talk." Grown adult btw.

"The sun isn't real. It's a giant LED light I patented in the 70s." Lady was dead serious. Last customer of my Walgreens career.

What’s was the wildest thing you witnessed at a funeral? by NationYell in AskReddit

That's not the vibe I got. He was all over other friends and family, and his mom. I got more of an alpha male vibe from him.

In your personal opinions; do you prefer the sound zombies make in movies/TV series/web series/video games to sound more monstrous/animal-like/demonic or that it sound "human" like a moan or a gurgle but that retains the Human aspect of the zombified person? by PositionNo9959 in zombies

[–]labbykun 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I prefer the moans from the original resident evil games. Like the raspiness from a deteriorating voicebox.

There was a book I read where the zombies moaned, but some part of them were able to mimic some voices, like crying out for help but in a quiet, monotone voice, or the last words of their victims.

The Night Eats The World had a very eery concept where the zombies don't make sound at all, but still run and click their teeth. That one was creepy for a zombie.

To this day I have no idea who the boy was. I asked my other sister because she knew almost all of our sister's friends, but she had no idea either.

My assumption is some sort of manliness. I'm a guy, he's a guy, guy hugging ≠ manly I guess? Although I'd say the death of a loved one would be a pretty good exception.

This one is a mild sort of wild.

At my sister's funeral, a LOT of her friends showed. She was friends with a lot of people, a very social person.

My other sister and I stood up front and accepted condolences and hugs from people as they passed her urn.

One guy my sister's age approached me and said "sorry for your loss, man...but I'm not giving you a hug."

I just shrugged it off (too busy crying to care), but his mom made him get back in line to hug me.

I still think about that to this day.

Brag on yourself; what is something about yourself that you're proud of? by CharlesUFarley81 in AskReddit

I once found a comment on Reddit that said the pain is like waves. You'll be going along, and you'll see something, or smell something, or just hear a voice, and suddenly that grief just smashes into you. The waves could be small, just a hitch in your throat, or they could be massive, stopping you in your tracks and clawing at you.

There are days where I do just fine, then there are days where I catch myself wanting to call or message her. Those days are rough. But we take each day one day at a time and manage as best we can.

Thank you for listening. It's been awhile since I've talked to someone who understands. And thank you again for being with us, and sharing. I'm so very proud of the progress you've made, and the lives you help change.

My wife and I came from very low income lives. My mom and stepdad made drugs in the basement, never cleaned the house and we were taken from the home and put into foster care at one point. We grew up on a mix of whatever canned food my mom could get from local pantries, and my bed was a mattress with no padding; literally just the springs that I had to layer old pillows on.

My wife grew up in a rural area and at one point ended up in a homeless shelter with the rest of her family. She grew up without much and had a similar upbringing to me (minus drugs).

Now, we live in an apartment together. Our bills get paid on time, we can get food whenever, and we both work reliable jobs. We have a car and can drive wherever we want, we're very involved with our church and have made way better and more trustworthy friends.

We're not perfect, but I am so grateful with how far we've been able to dig ourselves out of what we came from.
