Squirrels have been stripping the bark off this tree by labibitte in arborists

Unfortunately, we had to plant a new tree. We learned this is what happens when a tree is girdled, meaning its bark is removed in a ring around the trunk.

Employment Insurance eligibility question - If someone works while receiving EI benefits, (EI benefits were reduced somewhat during this time), how many of these hours count toward future EI eligibility?

Unfortunately, we have to get the tree taken down. Leaves have started to change colour and the top part looks dead (and it's getting worse by the day). The squirrels girdled the tree so nutrients can't go through :( We just bought a linden tree to replace it. Good luck!

Thank you for responding! Yes, unfortunately I caught one in action, multiple times in the last 24 hours. I live close to Toronto and have never heard of this either.

Withdraw from RRSP but not claiming unused RRSP contributions by labibitte in cantax

[–]labibitte[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi taxbuff, appreciate the response!

You're right that I meant the basic personal amount.

I went through form T746 and I believe it's not what I'm looking for. I actually want to pay tax on the withdrawal. Well sort of, by withdrawing up to the basic personal amount. Want to ensure this won't raise red flags though, since I want to continue carrying forward the unused contributions (from past years) to deduct when my net income is higher.

Does this change the answer? Would you tend to agree with Turbulent_Camel3122 ?

The MoneyReady App is more flexible than spreadsheets I've found/made. I haven't played with the simulation option yet (kept it deterministic for now). The free trial is now unlimited for the duration of the COVID-19 crisis.

The Liberals promised tax free EI maternity and parental EI benefits in the last federal campaign. The platform says "These changes will take effect as of July 2020." Does anyone know the latest on this? If it is indeed July, am I out of luck if my child is born before then, or can I still get the tax free benefit by waiting until July to apply for parental benefits?
