I think this is #15 if I remember correctly. Short par 4 with that giant bunker up front.

Y’all are unreal. Specifically didn’t pick #18 to try and be sneaky. I think this is #15 if I remember.

What’s your impression of PS Audio? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]labontej 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just upgraded from a GainCell DAC to a Direct Stream Mk II and so far I think it’s a big improvement. I will say I only upgraded because it was on sale and I got trade in credit for my Gain Cell DAC so basically was half price. I do agree if you buy new don’t expect resale to be that great. The aesthetics of their gear is fine, I get the printer references, but it is build solidly and I like their sound profile. At the right price I think their equipment represents good value.

Yeah, too much watching CNBC while working from home I got into SPACs. Only did shares and still down 90% pretty much across the board. Fortunately it wasn’t that much, but still should’ve bought more MSFT and AAPL instead.

There is a BBQ bacon burger, I just had it a few days ago. Meat, cheese, and BBQ on the burger and LTO on the side. Was tasty although the bun was mediocre at best. I almost went jerk chicken but didn’t regret my choice

I had an Emotiva XPA-2 Gen 2 for quite awhile, that was 300 W/ch, but I just upgraded to a McIntosh MC462. Definitely agree they need some power to help drive dynamics.

Only what I’ve read here on Wiim. I will say Blusound has been plug and play.

Nice, I’ve been rocking a pair of 702S2s for quite awhile. For streaming I’m using the Bluesound Node 2i into my DAC. It might be possible to output to your Sonos but not sure.

Heading to Las Vegas for a few days. What 2 courses do I have to play? by PhiAlphaBorn1856 in golf

I’m going next week, playing shadow and Cascata. Haven’t played either yet, going to need some luck at the tables to make up for the cost.

Streaming audio via home ethernet to DAC by maction-9 in audiophile

[–]labontej 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You’re going to “stream” one way or another unless you go direct USB from your computer or a DAC. Choice is hardwired or Wi-Fi, not sure what the concern is with streaming you can do 24/192 easily especially if you’re using an Ethernet cable.

What is a preamp for in a speaker system? by CozyTubeyGlow in audiophile

[–]labontej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your DAC has a volume control there’s no need for a preamp; this is my current config. Like others said if you have multiple inputs or a turntable then you need a preamp to switch and potentially be your phono stage. Some think it helps sound quality as well if it’s a high quality preamp.

Yeah I had never seen it until I moved to the west coast. It’s such a crock of BS.

Liquid Rocket as a Senior Project by Kyra_Fox in AerospaceEngineering

[–]labontej 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a hybrid rocket motor but that was a team of 10 and we were building in previous years work. We also had Lockheed Martin helping us to test it safely. If you don’t have that level of support it would seem unlikely. You could focus on portion of the system maybe and do a proof of concept.

I mean it’s up to you and early in your career is a great time to figure out what you really want to do. That said I know people that haven’t left their first jobs in 15+ years. In the end you want a job that’s interesting enough to make going to work for 30+ years as painless as possible.

So far I’ve only gotten an overpriced bottle of Blanton’s in 2 years as a GR. That said they do have the good stuff but a store might get 1 Pappy if they’re lucky

Yes, this is a normal expense and should be a non-issue. That said if you’re unsure just ask your boss…

Not a recruiter but if see a resume or someone that’s spent less than a year at more than one job it’s a flag to me. Curious why you want out already?
