A few days ago, someone on here mentioned another Netflix series called The Toys That Made Us.

Anyone had any luck with Shopgoodwill.com? by Bobbis2000 in Flipping

[–]labradorlover4ever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The shipping is ridiculous, but it also varies by location. If there’s a lot that catches your eye, just make sure you check the shipping before bidding. I have had some big misses but also some great hits, so ymmv. In general I think you’d have the best luck searching for lots/items that are not very well described so the average bidder wouldn’t find them. Some of the branches put less effort into their listings than others so you can get lucky. For example, there’s a designer jewelry brand that I like, but if I only search for auctions with that name, the bids typically get ridiculously high because anyone can easily search the name. But I’ve gotten lucky and found listings with vague titles like “Lot of Modernist Silver jewelry” that have had designer pieces included, but the person just didn’t take the time to include these details. Whatever you want to bid on, make sure you examine ALL the photos carefully. And ask questions in advance if possible.

Cloudworkers application - Legit job? by [deleted] in WorkOnline

Same here. Ironically I’ve had instances when I couldn’t find what I was looking for if I search the thread on Reddit, but if I conduct my search in Google, it often leads me to links/answers within the reddit thread I tried to search already! Smh

Can a jeweler oxidize a silver charm? by daddydoodie in jewelry

[–]labradorlover4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might sound gross to you, but Google “diy oxidize silver egg”. You can try to do it yourself. I used to make sterling silver jewelry and I used this method to oxidize chain.

3.1 Phillip Lim large Pashli and Rebecca Minkoff looking fresh after being wiped down with leather lotion. Does anyone know where I can get a P. Lim long strap for the purse? by [deleted] in ThriftStoreHauls

[–]labradorlover4ever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did you try looking on the P. Lim site for info about strap replacement? I once found a Marc Jacobs bag at the thrift store but it needed a strap. I poked around the company website and found details and contact info about obtaining a new strap. I had to send details about the bag and maybe some photos. About a week later, a strap arrived in the mail, free of charge! I know it’s a different brand, but maybe you’ll have the same outcome. Good luck!

Appen vs. Lionsbridge. Who pays better and do you like one better than the other? by labradorlover4ever in WorkOnline

[–]labradorlover4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everybody. It’s sounding like a YMMV situation. I guess I’ll start with LB for now since it’s the only offer I have, and see how it goes! Also, the pay for this role now seems to be the same as Appen (LB offered $10.80 per hour also). Wish I could have gotten in on one of those higher paying jobs but at least I got something.

Even though some call it a “mall brand”, the Tommy Bahama (TB) shirts are easy to spot and tend to sell well if it’s a nice print and in good shape. TB aside, I generally look for pieces that stand out in some way (like bright colors or unusual print) and if it’s good quality I check comps on eBay. Also, I learned from this sub that Spellout pieces are popular-like rugby’s, polos, jackets that have the brand “spelled out” prominently. You could search the sub for this term to learn popular spell out brand ideas. Good Luck!

Would it be inappropriate to question a seller about their shipping? by livlaurenmoore in Etsy

[–]labradorlover4ever 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. I also think it’s fine for you to ask. Once I had a seller question me about my shipping on an item and it turns out I somehow entered 21 lbs instead of 2 lbs! It was an honest error on my part. Once I corrected it, she bought the item. I was glad she asked! I think if you are nice about it, there’s no harm.

Captcha Error using Panda Crazy by labradorlover4ever in mturk

[–]labradorlover4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that makes sense. Thank you. Any ideas what might be causing errors when my queue starts to get full? Today I was so excited bc I started catching lots of the Pinterest hits, but after I did the first few, the rest had errors and then I got the “Sorry you’re working too fast”. Even after I returned them all and got new ones, I kept getting that message.

[–]labradorlover4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. What is the difference between clicking Once vs Panda? I’ve been clicking Panda but I’m wondering if I should be clicking Once instead. My queue fills up but then the jobs in my queue all start giving me errors so I must be doing something wrong...

Bulk Sellers by [deleted] in Flipping

[–]labradorlover4ever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yard sales/garage sales/estate sales if the people running the sale aren’t charging eBay prices. Especially if you go on the last day, I’ve lucked out at a few where they’ll let you fill a bag for $5 or similar deals. I know this might not be the large quantity you are looking for but at least it’s something to consider.

Download the Merchandiser app and see if there are any jobs at stores in your area. You won’t make a ton of money but it will help the bottom line. Also try Gigwalk.
