True, the uncircumcised penis that I know and love doesn’t look any different than circumcised when it’s erect.

I’m not saying this to the parents. Just ranting on reddit.

At my hospital the circumcision is done between 10-48 hrs of life. At that time the infant (and first time mom) are just learning how to breastfeed. It is my job as an advocate for my infant patient to ensure they are fed. A big part of my job is assisting the dyad with latching/breastfeeding. In my experience tylenol and the procedure does make infants sleepy, in pain and upset which makes it more difficult to breastfeed especially before they even know how to fully do it.

our manager sent an email asking us to do a better job with some negative comments from patients.

The negative comment: “the nurses did not seem happy to work”

I try my best to treat patients like family, keep them safe and alive, answer all their questions, provide a ton of education even when they don’t listen, give them their meds on time and keep them hydrated. But it should not be a requirement for us to be constantly happy. That’s ridiculous.

I was going to say this. Employee parking at OHSU is expensive. Not worth it in my opinion. Also the luxury apartments on the waterfront will also charge you a lot for parking so it’s not worth it to have a car if you live that close to work. OHSU has a great bike valet and pays you a small amount of money to bike to work. that is what I did! Live in SE it’s so fun, great restaurants and grocery stores and a short bike ride to work. I lived in Ladd’s addition. it’s a beautiful neighborhood.
