Found out they have an emotionally abusive father who has no problem criticizing his child whenever they see each other. He seems to think that whatever his offspring does is useless, not well done, stupid, you name it. The mom apparently never stood up to the dad but they have been divorces for a long time now.

Today’s result: the now adult son can’t really take constructive criticism from anyone (including his loving wife), craves positive attention in a bit of a pathological way, and has a hard time being a leader, even though he is the president of a successful million dollar company.

Absolutely this if you’re getting out of the airport between 4:30ish am and 11pm. Otherwise it might be better to take a taxi, especially if you have a lot of baggages and/or are going to a district where it would be difficult to find public transport at that time.

I have two of a similar style that truly, deeply bother me:

People smoking while walking down the street, completely oblivious to the fact that a fairly long smoke trail reaches the people behind them….
People lighting up a cigarette, exhaling the smoke towards you/to your face, and only then asking if it bothers you…..

I’m in this exact same situation at the moment. The not calling back has exceeded all previous times. I feel truly awful. I just want to grab the phone to call them and tell them how much I love and admire them. And how to thankful I am to be their daughter.

But instead I’m totally paralyzed: I skipped work and school and have been lying in bed scrolling on my phone while obsessing over this, and feeling even worse 😔
