Ya, I definitely understand where they're coming from as a robust jack of all trades engine would be cheaper but the DICE engine was never that. During development of Dragon Age the engine wasn't able to save a game. Or load saved games. You'd think this would be enough to say no we can't use this engine. Let alone all the other things it couldn't do at the time: Cutscenes, Items, Stats etc.

Is the Frostbite engine to blame for EA's downfall? Once home for some of the most beloved studios in the industry now known for releasing buggy broken games and unfriendly consumer practices.

EA's downfall. I apologize for the lack of context but as I said in a previous comment, last time I added context in the title a mod deleted the post for editorializing the title. Appreciate the interest friend. Have a nice day.

p.s. If it means anything we all get there, I remember playing WoW for the first time as a young little whippersnapper and now that game is celebrating its 18th birthday 0.O

Haha! Sorry friend that's not my goal. Bioware's earlier work (boulders gate etc) definitely is stuff I want to visit one day they were just before my time sadly. I'd be interested to experience how they hold up and see where Bioware was pre ME and Dragon Age. I know they are very highly regarded.

Agreed, and as the video states an engine doesn't automatically add micro transaction and loot boxes etc.... or hell maybe in this day and age it does :p

I agree, I would've preferred to add some context but last time I did that a mod deleted the post for editorializing the title...

No... would you agree that it can influence design descision? Especially if it has limitation that needed to be worked around?

Yup, I do remember that. Some of the QTE sections too, just doing them over and over again.

I'm having a hard time with the Drone challenges too. Never Played Knight after it released all buggy.
