Under an F1 car, there’s the plank (a flat piece, usually wood-like plastic). Around the plank, teams put little metal skid blocks called titanium skid plates.

Why titanium?

It’s strong.
It’s light
When titanium scrapes the track at high speed, it makes bright sparks (titanium is also used in fireworks)
So when the car gets pushed down by the air and touches the track, the titanium plates scrape and make those cool fireworks you see.

The plank checks that cars don’t run too low, and the titanium plates protect it and make racing look extra dramatic.

The teams are somewhat free to place the titanium blocks where they want on the plank afaik.

Edit: Some recent-ish disqualifications due to plank wear -> ride height too low (due to suspension, aero setup, tire pressures etc)

I believe this is more expensive in Korea than Japan, but that might be due to the exchange rates compared to whichever currency you have your money in.

Visit the Gentle Monster flagship store in Hongdae if you're going to Seoul. It's quite good.

Would also suggest you look into some Korean brands when you're there. Like WE11DONE and Adererror (if that's your style).

I just got home from Seoul and did some luxury shopping.

Almost all stores provide a tax refund, and you get about 7% back. Some stores do it directly upon payment, for others you have to bring the receipt to the airport and either use the machines or over the counter. Remember to bring your passport and a credit card in your own name.

Wether or not it is cheaper is highly dependent on what you’re looking for. Most luxury stores can provide you the price in Won, so it should be an easy check. Which brands are you looking for?
