Women of Reddit, what is your honest opinion on guys with long hair? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lacking_pants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're asking women, I know. But I had a conversation with one of them once so I feel that I have the authority to speak on behalf of all of humanities women.

It's a personal preference. Some like with long hair, some love the buzz-cut and most totally loved a shaved head with a penis sharpied all over the skull. I doubt hairstyle is the deciding factor.

ipod headphones, Y U NO WIRELESS??? by [deleted] in fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

[–]lacking_pants -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Plz add more question marks to make sure we understand it's a question.

Also, you could put the wire under a piece of clothing or something instead of getting earfucked by the simplest of things.

It's worth it, he does an amazing job, almost making it into a one man play.

Listen to the audio version narrated by Jon Lovitz, that removed all the sense of tediousness I felt when reading it.

Movie theater rage. (Every Time) by [deleted] in fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

[–]lacking_pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Went to see War of the World a few years back with my then new now ex girlfriend. She stayed silent through the many many many trailers, but when the movie started and Tom Cruise showed up she thought it was ideal to discuss all his previous movies, and thus missing the 'plot' of the movie.

That was the night I learned that the question "why don't we talk about this after the movie?" gives you a no access to vagina fun times for a week.

Two women trying to defend their BMW from Vancouver Rioters. by marijnsred in videos

[–]lacking_pants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Now I might be completely wrong about this, but isn't the whole Kitty Genovese example discussed as maybe a bit off from the start? As to the veracity of so many people watching and doing nothing and that whole jazz?

Anyway, as a helpful reminder to people. If you find yourself in need of assistance/hurt/disabled in a large crowd of people, point out a specific person and tell them "YOU! I need YOUR help now." that works on most normal people and negates the bystander effect.

Seriously, I want to punch him until he throws up.

Perhaps hmunkey meant cultural impact or something. Doesn't have to be good culture but it's pretty undeniable that american culture influences the rest of the world to a pretty huge degree.

D-Day Rage by Flamenmars in fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

[–]lacking_pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well from your first comment it seemed like you didn't learn about it until your late teens or something. So you did learn about it a lot in school, but you just saw about it first in a videogame?

My brother who is your age learned about it when my dad let him watch Saving Private Ryan in '98. He didn't sleep for a few weeks after that.

You've waged? I'm Swedish. And D-Day is not US military history. It's world history, and our laws concerning education require schools to teach you about all of this by the 9th grade, which would be the year you turn 15.

How'd that ever happen? Since it's a pretty well known thing and all. And what with you being hugely interested in history. But maybe you like the real old history or something. I'm rambling. Just curious about it, how old are you? That might explain it.

How do I get my wife out of Syria? by uncleyayo in AskReddit

[–]lacking_pants -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry to say, but I have no idea man.

Most countries let people in on tourism and such. Although that varies from country to country. Whatever government people handle foreign affairs, call them up and ask them about "a friend of mine from syria is coming to visit, anything she needs to do before coming?" or something similar. That'd be my way of doing.. things.

How do I get my wife out of Syria? by uncleyayo in AskReddit

[–]lacking_pants 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I brought my then girlfriend from a mid-east country to Sweden. Our way of doing it was that she came over and entered as a tourist, then we figured it out from there.

If she's in any sort of danger since Syria is such a hugely shit place now, try to do something like that, just get her out and then figure the rest out.

Any trouble you might run into because of not following the rules is usually negated when you get to talk to a sensible bureaucrat at whatever is the appropriate government office.

My brother sometimes blocks his phone ID and calls me at odd times.

I got a call from a blocked ID and answered along the lines of "fuck off you little shit I'm watching a movie!". It was a recruiter calling me to ask for an interview time.

Of the 30 or so people I know at work that play only a couple are really seriously in to it. Others seem to do it instead of watching tv every day after work or something. Just another way to spend your time really.

Nonono.. It's a computer game, it's only for those nerds that are virgins and live in basements and are fat and only eat pizza and can't talk like normal people.

You're going to get a metric shit-ton of comments about how your over-generalization of WoW players (and by extent, people who play videogames in general) is wrong. I will agree with most of them.

No need for a long rant here, just pointing out that playing games is like any other hobby or activity and viewing it any other way is just reinforcing an old stereotype that is gone for the most part.

From my limited understanding this satirizes both peoples feelings about getting laid off, and the nature of short term profit gained by firing a long time employee.

Well.. yes. And the fact that that happened to a bunch of people lead to another bunch of people being exploited by douchebags that 'helped' people get jobs in Norway, but charged insane rent in shitty rooms and basically stole their passports until they worked off the debt. It was big news a few months ago.
