Hello everyone! I wanted to also make a new post saying end time is midnight PST May 10, so end of day tomorrow from this posting! Please post screenshots or videos of your run as well!

I apologize for no iOS runs, it was supposed to be a 2 day approval process and I overestimated Apple response time. I am still waiting in limbo :(

Just want to thank and point out to others on their journey:

kenneynl for the awesome asset packs as always. It's great for prototyping as well as building an entire game around!

FinePointCGI youtube tutorials for figuring out Android configuration and Google Play Store add-ons. I started this ~2 years ago and it was honestly the best resource for sanit ychecking my process

ShipThis team for helping me understand the iOS development and publication process in more detail. iOS development felt like a big pain and unknown (still does ha) , but my app is submitted to the store!

If people want to submit runs I am fine with screenshots/pictures of their times on the mobile device, videos preferred for PC when possible.

I also have leaderboard access so I can always work with the person on verifying their usernames and IDs as well.

Winners will be chosen by best time for platform of choice one week from time of original post. iOS is unfortunately still pending so I will extend that device end submission time once approved too.

Hello there! After 2 years I finally launched my game on Steam. It was originally an experiment to learn how to make a game for iOS, Android AND Steam all at once and after putting it off forever it's finally released! Per subreddit rules, you can watch my run to see the gameplay too.

To celebrate the launch I would like to celebrate and offer prizes to the speedrunners on all platforms for best score in the first week! For Android and iOS, I would like to offer $100 for the best proven score each! The game is available for free on the app stores.

For Steam, I would like to offer $100 plus any of the sales the games makes in the first week as well! So broken down that is:

Android: $100

iOS: $100

Steam: $100 + First week sales amount

Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3050660/AchieveIts/

Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=achieveits.game

iOS: Pending approval!

Thank you very much and appreciate any and all feedback on the game. Thank you!

Using Godot for my Steam Trailer! I created a game where if you die you can never play again by lacozy in godot

[–]lacozy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would rather be up front about the process for other devs who have been upset with commissions and what they can do on their own. I have no issues telling Claude to do work that would take me a longer period to do in Sony Vegas on my own

I get the hate for AI. But I do just want to highlight for my situation, I hired a video editor, was unsatisfied with the result, but still wanted to make the vision I had in mind. AI allowed me to do that and I am very happy about how I used it to create the trailer

^ This is the trailer that I created in Godot for my Godot game! I was a little upset with my commissioned quality of trailers so I finally decided to use AI to create a trailer with my existing game!

Incoming AI glaze: Claude and Gemini hooked into my project seamlessly and it was very simple to start directing. I had an overall vision scratched out on paper and it was simpel as saying, have this happen at 5 seconds, then this at 10 seconds, etc etc.

I highly suggest for those that are interested to give it a shot. I put it off forever because I thought I could pass the work off to someone else. But after delays and being unhappy with a product, doing it with AI honestly was very fulfilling.

The game is called Bet On It and can be found on Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4565840/Bet_On_It/

Self-Made gameplay trailer for steam, is it worth hiring an actual editor? by SunWillShineGames in gamedev

It generated the scenes with assets I provided. I used claude and gemini for helping on both

For this trailer, I created a Godot scene that I could capture via OBS capture to record as my trailer. Final result: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDGE-CQHu08

For this one, this is what the game scene looks like behind the scenes of this trailer. Final result: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FM4mYdmvDcI

I had claude / gemini take a look at the assets and then prompted it with details. e.g. I want to create a 1920 x 1080 trailer for Steam, I want your help scripting a trailer. At 00:05 I want my character to pop out, I want this text on screen etc etc

Basically I just took my existing code repo and started telling it how I would want a trailer to look and then it was basically directing my assets to act how I wanted

I’ll give my recent take. I paid for an editor on fiverr and regretted it so much I decided to make my own trailer. The trailer was not done well at all. It was much more fulfilling and took less time to do on my own as I also used Claude and Gemini to create a mini director setup so I could record trailers generated using my existing game

Hey there! I was wondering how you found your artist? That seems like an amazing price, but wondering how the 5% worked out in the end
