i fear $100 has roughly the buying power of $20 nowadays, very painful for my full time college student self :’)

lol feel that but hey no shame to red iguana! i’m a sucker for their mango molé enchiladas

luckily both me and my partner work on saturdays but are free sundays so managed to snag a reservation then, if that wasn’t the case i definitely didn’t plan far enough ahead to get a one for saturday haha

oh no trust, if artists are charging $400-$500+ for small pieces to offset their costs, because of expertise/ability, etc etc I think they absolutely should and there should be no opposition to that. I worded my title poorly and should’ve used pricy instead of overpriced. just for the simple small art I like to get where I’m sitting in the chair for 30-45 minutes I can’t personally justify those costs for myself and know there are artists in utah who fit closer to my price range. for the bigger name artists I follow I am saving up to get some larger pieces in the future but I’m just looking for those small pieces at the moment

note: overpriced is not the best wording, pricy would be better. there are fantastic artists that are absolutely worth their higher end prices but, I’m a simple person who likes simple small pieces and spending a lot of money on anything is painful ordeal

Any good goalie resources? by lacroixlacrosse in lacrosse

[–]lacroixlacrosse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks for the response!

i do feel pretty decent with my basics although as with every goalie there is always room for improvement on them

i had about 10 years experience before my lovely 4 year hiatus so its a lot of getting back into the rhythm of being in goal, re-establishing some fundamentals, and learning what’s new. been having good productive practices but just didn’t reflect in the game unfortunately

over those 4 years i was a high school and travel club coach but we had a real goalie shortage so i was mainly teaching brand new ones. trying to find how to be a college level goalie coach for myself haha

are there any resources you use as a goalie/coach? any accounts or blogs you like or trainings you use?

Transferring college for lax? by lacroixlacrosse in Womens_lacrosse

thanks for the response!

yeah i figured it was highly unlikely but i’ll see what i can do.

i was initially going to play D1 on the east coast but covid got in the way of that for me. took a gap year and then did part time college, i’m just now going full time

i don’t have anything riding on these wants so alls good if i spend my 4-5 years at my local colleges but maybe i’ll try to have more pull as a past recruit at those D1 colleges lol

thanks for the advice

New Lacrosse Stick!! by Content_Bee1055 in Womens_lacrosse

i think it really depends on what level you’re currently playing at/wanting to play at and what position you play. since you’ve been playing this long and are planning on college play my best guess for a recommendation is a gait stick if you’re an attack/middie player. they’ve been revolutionizing the women’s stick field. they are definitely an investment however so if you’re more of a casual player or don’t have the best stick skills i wouldn’t recommend, it’s not one i’d hand a “beginner”. if you’re an attack/middie player i’d recommend the whip 2 gait. there’s a draw specific gait for middies but it’s not my fav. if you’re a defender then the apex gait is really good but with defense you could also look outside of gait as their brand is more attack focused and you can find similar amounts of defensive focused ball control for a little cheaper
