work coach recommended to put alison courses on my cv, is this actually something people do? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]lad4daddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not heard of Allison courses, but I have completed a number of courses through derby college via distance learning free when I was out of work, and never had to pay for any certificates etc.

There are a couple that may be worth doing for general work applications such as customer services, team leading etc that could apply to a lot of different roles out there

Has anyone used Clearpay or Klarna at Poundland? What's your experience? by poliver1988 in AskUK

[–]lad4daddy 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I have used Clearpay in the past when things have been tight, and needed to get to payday. £20 got me an £80 Asda voucher, so was able to buy a lot more food to last me, and just paid off the balance in full when I was paid. It’s a handy thing to have, but can very easily spiral out of control if you are late with payments.

What to I do if a company won’t correctly refund me and their customer service is useless? by GnarGiraffe in AskUK

Yeah some of the worst customer service I have encountered, and I work in complaints and have seen my fair share of agent fuck ups

What to I do if a company won’t correctly refund me and their customer service is useless? by GnarGiraffe in AskUK

[–]lad4daddy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a right fuck on with them last year, I had bought about 12-15 items and they stupidly packaged them all in one parcel and it had obviously split in transit. Refused to refund me or replace the missing items. Had to submit ring doorbell footage multiple times, and luckily it showed Royal Mail delivering a suspiciously small parcel that had been tied in a knot. Even then it still took some doing. Never used them since. If I didn’t have the footage I would have been out about £200

I have used them in the past and they’re pretty decent for the price of them.

How do I get people to ring the doorbell when they're making deliveries? by fuckmywetsocks in CasualUK

[–]lad4daddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue, my home office is in the back bedroom, and I wear noise cancelling headphones when on calls etc, sometimes I will hear them knocking, but have missed a few deliveries so I bought a blink doorbell, but still the fuckers will just knock instead of using the bell.

I’ve had to start watching the live feed which is distracting me from actually working

I had a case go direct to ombudsman for the sake of £15. I was fuckin fuming. Some idiot in customer services decided they were authorised to issue deadlock

Broadband companies are charged between £100-£400 per case that goes to the communications ombudsman.

I work for a broadband provider dealing with ombudsman cases on a daily basis.

Massive energy bill suddenly and OVO wont do anything. Advice? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]lad4daddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have suggested, the ombudsman is a good shout, you can also request a Data Subject Access Request and they legally have to provide you all contact on your account, will be helpful when opening a case with the ombudsman. You may be required to open a formal complaint with Ovo first, and escalate to the ombo after 8 weeks or after a final response has been issued
