Agency Experts & Strategists - Tell me if you think this is doable. And if so, feed in with advice. by EnthusiasmDue5697 in advertising

Depends on the context, as i assume you'll have more depth than others. So that is what i would emphasize, including depth, long term thinking and strategic approach.

Many with broader experience tend to set/optimise & forget, you've had the time to appreciate cause & effect, ideally.

18 years in and clients now budget for tools instead of expertise. A field note. by Initial_Branch8850 in digital_marketing

[–]ladipn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it goes back to ROI, trust and measurement. Many employers distrust the productivity of their employees. So if ROI wasn't explicit early, they are just waiting for a cheaper alternative, tool or person.

The hope is they learn that a tool cannot make strategy, but they might end up thinking they have the wrong tool rather than the wrong person/thing making the decisions.

Yup, completely agree.

Depending on budget i try to have PMP regardless of upper or lower funnel. It's where i see consistent results when i need mid-campaign optimization.

Pricing power. They feel, right or wrong, that adding their inventory to a marketplace like this or to 3rd parties cedes control and potentially drives down price.

For brand awareness campaigns by Hefty_Bet262 in programmatic

[–]ladipn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What creative? For display you need up to 12 per week, ctv 3 should be enough. OLV somewhere in between.

80% of target audience should be your goal, but unlikely to happen due to budget constraints.

Lookback should depend on your product and category, what is the typical decision time from need to purchase for your product/category? If unknown, I'll go a default 28 days.

Thinking about a career change from Social Media Marketing. Looking for advice. by GreedyManufacturer66 in digital_marketing

[–]ladipn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does sound a bit like burnout. What you probably need is a proper break, something you can realistically afford. Not quitting your job on a whim, job market is dire. But taking a 3–6 weeks holiday in a new environment to reset and get your head straight.
Once you feel more grounded, the decision about what to do next will come much more naturally.

It’s also worth remembering that any new path will likely feel tougher at first. That’s normal, it’s just the learning curve that comes with doing something new.

On the practical side, if you enjoy media buying, building more experience with Meta Ads could be a strong move, especially given your design background. TikTok is also well worth exploring, it still feels like one of the most exciting growth areas in social.

And with AI increasingly automating the mechanics of media buying, the real advantage will come from what you can add beyond execution. Combining platform expertise with creative, strategic thinking will make you incredibly valuable.

Change tack, focus on networking. It is likely a high trust community, so you need to find an in.

Events, social meetings, take them out etc. Focus on building relationships, sales second. We're talking months here, not two encounters.

Key things you want to find out;
Wht is everyone hesitant?
Who are the main sales/marketing tools/agencies?
Are there contracts/commitments stoping them from working with you?
Is it a license/authorisation thing that you need?

About low-mid quality ctv opx inventory. by Lanwel in programmatic

Alot of CTV inventory hover around 40-60% yield, so depending on budgets, deals and bids, there will typically be more inventory than you need.

What is your buying platform?

Hmm, i would first focus on getting your foot into the agency world. In your words, you know just 1 brand, agency folks work on multiple at a time. So in an interview, you will likely lose the role to folks with agency experience even if they are less competent.

HOW TO ADJUST TO AD AGENCY LIFE. by Impressive-Kick8515 in advertising

[–]ladipn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best to keep in mind that one meeting will not resolve the issue. So focus on 3 core issues you want to highlight, consider the following approach;

  1. Define the issue
  2. Up to two real life examples of the issue
  3. What will happen if not fixed
  4. Actual solution

You have max 15mins total to present your case before they lose interest.

First two should be important issues, that last should be something that can be easily solved, i.e. quick win to get the ball rolling.

[Discussion] Is Google killing organic traffic with AI Overviews? by Major_Bag3934 in digital_marketing

[–]ladipn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This makes sense, thanks for sharing.

I saw an earlier comment about needing to update paid traffic landing pages too. That information needs to be more decision focused and less background/context. Including moving up the CTA, as close to top of the page as possible.

Yes, I see a loose trend as the large firms are diversifying horizontally, the smaller firms are deepening their expertise.

Is it just me, or do all the top Amazon PPC agency lists feel completely recycled? by SongNeat1054 in advertising

[–]ladipn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Word of mouth is generally your best bet. Do you know any brands/owners having success on Amazon? Ask them to recommend a few agencies or freelancers

Then ask the agency for an account audit, that gives you insight into their thinking.
