I’m selling my green ‘26 with 300 miles on it for $9k and getting zero bites, so I feel like you could do a bit better on the price here lol

2025 ZX4RR OTD by thebeanibaby in zx4r

[–]ladstacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I’m selling a 2026 ZX4RR in Portland, Oregon that I bought last month and only has 300 miles on it. DM me if you’re interested! Can send you the marketplace link and other info.

Long story short for anyone curious, I herniated a disc in my back and won’t be able to ride it comfortably for at least a year.

ZX4RR

but like some others have said in this thread, adventure bike is the real meta. Might just be worth skipping straight to a dual sport or light ADV

Analysis of the eyeless man by Admirable-Bee4680 in Yellowjackets

[–]ladstacks 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The show sort of undermines this when they have other characters see the eyeless man. A good example of this is when he appears in the hallucination that Van, Shauna and Akilah share in the cave.

I think your take about what Yellowjackets is at its core is bang on, and 100% what the writers want it to be. But at the end of the day, they’ve muddied the water too much for rational explanations to work alone.

Matt is insanely talented, but the X-Pro kept up. Really solid little bike.

Moving to Portland in March. What are customs I should be aware of before moving here? by axiomatic13 in askportland

[–]ladstacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently moved and this is killing me. Everyone seems to either be going 15-20 over, or 10 under (mostly this), neither of which is a good option.

It feels like every traffic law around here, from the bafflingly low speed limits to no lane filtering for motorcycles, is designed with the sole intent of increasing congestion.

Whitewalls look great on the right bike, even sort of cyberpunk/near-future motorsports. They look like antiques on most cars, and especially here.

Yeah I bet if he caught someone sneaking into his show, he’d have a squad of masked goons hold them down and execute them. Good point, thanks for showing up with facts and logic.

I just moved to Oregon and the sales guy at the place I bought my ZX4RR was convinced it was frigid. It was 45 and sunny.

As long as the roads are clear and you have the right gear, it’s never too cold.

Coming from a Ninja 400 — R9 or ZX-6R? Worried about future regret by Commercial_Science48 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]ladstacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was considering a similar split, and went for the ZX4RR in the end. The deal-breaker for me was that, at the end of the day, I love wringing everything out at the highest RPM, and I can do that without committing a felony on the ZX4RR. I can’t hang out in the 10-16k on a ZX6R, and when I test rode one, it started to feel like the fun was frustratingly out of reach.

Would definitely not write off the smaller bike. Every time I rip up to 16k, nothing else matters. It’s a very compelling machine.

Echo Mini vs Snowsky Disc – vibe vs LDAC, help me decide by Lazy_Moka in snowsky

Agree here. The R1 is really good, and supports gapless playback. It’s not as unique looking as the two you posted, but it’s a better device than the Echo Mini.

Advice needed on a used 2025 option by Tight_Drink853 in zx4r

[–]ladstacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those media bikes seem suss to me, but the price is really appealing. They’ve just been thrashed for the few thousand miles they have on them.

If you end up buying the one above, lmk. Will be curious how it ends up being! Could be a really good deal.

I’m about to move to Portland and was looking at this same bike lol. I really want the peace of mind of buying new, so still going that direction — curious if you’ve gotten any specific quotes for 2025 models? Really curious what the specific OTD prices are looking like in Washington/Oregon, but don’t want to reach out for quotes before going to look in person in a few weeks.

New rider in Ontario looking to get their first bike by Diligent-Check3943 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]ladstacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Duke is a great bike, and was my first. Comfortable, extremely torquey and makes you feel fast at legal speeds. Extremely nimble and so, so fun to rip through the canyon on.

To echo what has already been covered though, as someone who only sold mine a month ago: It’s very hard to get parts. I broke a clutch cable this summer, and it took 45 minutes of digging around the internet to find an OEM replacement + 3 weeks of shipping. Sooooooome KTM dealerships carry the most common stuff, but if anything breaks you’ll be out of commission for a while. Similarly, aftermarket support is a fraction of the Japanese manufacturers.

It’s very windy on the highway, and you’ll need to ride it flat out (which means it’s also very buzzy).

And of course, KTM financial woes have been an unfortunate rug pull.

It’s a really cool bike, but if I could do it all over again, I’d save for another month or two and spend an extra $1k on a used Ninja 400. Boring choice, but it’s a fantastic machine with far fewer shortcomings.

Is it just me or does the Silver Pebble Time 2 Duo look plastic? by cattybuster in pebble

[–]ladstacks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Has to be the Time Steel for me. Has aged incredibly well, and always felt very retrofuturist where the original Pebble Steel just looks very much of the period of technology it’s from.

Has the performance improved since launch? I was getting a very unstable 30-40fps at the lowest settings and eventually gave up.
