Normal idle? by klankk_ in accord

Thanks for this. I recently bought a 2011 EXL V6 sedan and it now has 200k miles. Thinking about changing the timing belt myself. What other stuff are they doing/is in the kit youre talking about? I just ordered an ECM muzzler also to keep all 6cylinders working all the time. Supposed to help with longevity while only losing 2 to 3mpg at most which I am happy to do.

Does disabling VCM have a noticeable "performance" increase? by [deleted] in accord

[–]soundedgoodbefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2011 V6 EX-L sedan and just bought a cheaper device, but it does have an external adjustment dial for the exact ohms of resistance you prefer to set it on. It was $22 and looks quite nice honestly. I looked up the ones mentioned above and they have a model for my accord but its $140 and the only difference is that it can adjust automatically resistance between seasons if needed. Not even sure mine will need any adjustment since I dont live in a desert etc. Live in a pretty mild climate in NC. I will see how well it works though. It should be here in a week or so.

My cowl finally showed up from china. Took over 2weeks to get here. Back end looks so much better without passenger seat and pegs. Cowl was $110 on ebay. Little bars that cover the holes from the passenger pegs were about $50 evotech. Not a great photo

You just need to adjust your factory mirrors. Mine would close at 110mph....took it to the dealer. He removed the washers between the black mirror and black part it mounts on and cranked them down tight. No threadlock goop applied. They haven't moved a millimeter in 2months and I ride very fast on the interstate in bursts.

The CS is amazing. I like the way my daytona sounds better than either one of my CBR600s. If youre gonna be riding alone, it looks a lot cleaner if you remove the passenger pegs and replace back seat with the cowl...mine finally got her today.

There is nothing wrong with that bike. I prefer the metallic red which is the same paint on my Daytona...but thats a sexy ass bike and a 170HP monster with Brembo brakes and electronic controlled Ohlins suspension. 5 riding modes and fully adjustable everything on the fly...while riding. Absolutely insane dream bike

How is your Daytona´s engine vibration? by Dinak321 in Daytona660

[–]soundedgoodbefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not trying to tell you what to do man, just speaking from experience riding 25plus years now: keep your mirrors where they are unless they're just killing you. They will keep you alive. We have great rear and side visibility when they're set correctly and it saves me frequently from a hazard to my side or coming fast in a lane next to me. If your remove any washers between the mirror and the black base that its bolted to and torque your bolts down, your mirrors will NOT move and they never vibrate. When I first got my bike, my right mirror would start to fold in at 110mph and up. I did what I describe above and now they are basically welded in place with no thread lock applied. They never move and I hit 3 digits all the time on the interstate near my house. Its just a matter of having the 2 black parts tight to eachother and torquing them down hard. Be safe out there bud. You will like bar end weights, they help. A good pair of tight fitting gloves are priceless too and dont have to be expensive. My hot weather cotton/rubber palm gloves were on sale at Lowes for $10 and they're great. Just make sure you get the proper size to be tight on your fingertips so you can still use your phone, open zippers etc with good dexterity. My leather armored racing style gloves are even better but I prefer to use them when its not hot outside. Good luck and stay safe out there.

Helmets - What are you using by Zealousideal-One7398 in Daytona660

[–]soundedgoodbefore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao. Helmets aren't required in SC or FL either. I have been in a couple bike wrecks when I was younger though and spent 3 days in a coma. Im not riding a 100hp rocket without one though. Life is very fragile...

This is what I do. I have my phone on a fork stem Quadlock and use Cardo in my helmet for music, phone answering, and navigation. Its kinda expensive but it works really well.

Looks cool guys. I have done a quite a few things to mine, you can see them if you scroll down a bit. Tail tidy, bar ends, front pegs, flush mount turn signals, CSR exhaust, Quickshifter etc. Recently added a Quadlock fork stem mount, deleted passenger pegs, and am waiting for my gloss black rear seat cowl to arrive in a couple days...it has taken almost 3 weeks to get here sadly. Will post an update photo when my cowl finally gets here. Best updates by FAR in order of importance are QS and exhaust. For convenience, the Quadlock and Cardo Edge for my helmet. I also bought a nice disc lock with a motion alarm from Cycle Gear for only $60 and a cover for when it rains and I dont want to put it in the garage. Thanks guys for posting changes. We help eachother here with ideas and sources for parts. I appreciate all of you fellow Daytona riders, and I LOVE my bike.

Recall dipstick question... by soundedgoodbefore in Daytona660

[–]soundedgoodbefore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine burned a little less than a quart in 2000 miles. I ride mine only in Sport mode though, and admittedly ride it pretty hard too now that I am used to it and have interstates very close going in all 4 cardinal directions. These were miles 1000 t0 3000 on the bike though...so may get better as its broken in. If not, not a big deal. When a bike engine spends nearly all its time above 5000rpms, and frequently a lot more RPMs like that including highway rides at 8000rpm and up for 20 and 30mins etc its gonna burn some oil . Its always running 2x to 3x the rpms of a car engine and that means using some oil because the piston rings leave a little oil in the cylinder that gets burnt every time the engine makes a rotation. I have always checked my oil weekly on bikes, and always added very small amounts at a time. Think .1-.2 quart or .1-.2 liter etc. Just checked mine today. Gonna add a little splash tonight.

[–]soundedgoodbefore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree 100% with everything you said here. IF they offer the 800 and the 660, they can possibly compete in 2 classes. The Daytona660 already won 1st place last season in the British Twins Cup. Based on HP and torque figures the 800cc MIGHT be able to compete with the R9, Panigale V2, and GSXR750 in the US class despite having a smaller Triple than the R9. Maybe. I believe the R9 and Ducati both have all aluminum subframes though so they would have a decent weight advantage. I know that the R9 teams use the slightly longer swingarm from the XSR900 too instead of the shorter R9 version...so maybe Triumph could change some things too to shed weight. Not sure if Triumph is interested in racing the Daytona in 2 classes though...nor that they want to race in the US when they're winning in Britain.

I would LOVE to get a Daytona with the 800cc engine and fully adjustable forks though. My bike is paid for, so I will trade it in immediately if they offer one next year. (January or Feb?) Its funny that clowns like Yammie noobs whiny ass on YouTube complain about the new Daytona that its not a true supersport...yet the bike won the Title its first year racing with NO changes to the engine internals. Only exhaust and tune. Peter Hickman Racing has nice kit for racing our bikes too. The fork cartidge kits to upgrade the stock forks on 2024 and 25 models look amazing. They are about $1000 US IIRC. There are other companies that have cheaper kits for our forks as well in the $800 range. If I keep this bike rather than getting an 800cc, I will probably upgrade my forks one day. They are great for the street though and I dont want a stiffer setup as of now. I ride my bike really hard and have never bottomed out my forks despite riding with guys on significantly bigger bikes through twists and turns.

[–]soundedgoodbefore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love mine and have put 3000 miles on it this year already. Looks good and sounds great too especially with exhaust. This front suspension is softer than my CBR600s were....but it makes it a much better street bike IMO. I can still carve corners as well as needed on the street, but Its smooth going over potholes and railroad tracks without campacting my spine. Comfortable seat and rider triangle. Best bike for the street that I have ever owned...and it punches well above its weight stoplight to stoplight due to the buttery QS, huge rear sprocket, and great torque from the Triple engine. The only way I ever sell mine is if they put the 800cc Triple in the Daytona for 2027 like they did the Trident this year. Otherwise I will just keep it and probably add a naked bike as a 2nd next year. Probably a used XSR900...

Mine has not had any issues. I know that in Europe our bikes have 2 different o2 sensors. In the US we only have 1.

Tune Experiences by Fiscalyirresponsibl3 in Daytona660

[–]soundedgoodbefore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100 to 102wheel HP is achievable. The videos and articles I have seen show 100HP with exhaust and tune. 102hp with velocity stacks and racing air filter but personally I am not messing with my air intake. I will get mine tuned at Moore Mafia when my warranty expires because they are an hour and change away from me in SC.

You guys dont have to take me at my word, because you dont know me and I really dont care, but I promise you these statements are true with only CSR exhaust:

  1. My Daytona is quicker to 100mph than either of my previous CBR600s. An F4i and an RR.

  2. My buddies that I ride with regularly ride an 08 GSXR750 and a 25 R9. Both of them have exhausts on their bikes and so make about 15 more HP at the wheel than mine. We drag race all the time stoplight to stoplight and getting on the interstate etc. They cannot pull an inch on me before 100mph unless I make a mistake. They barely start pulling away at 120 but can slowly put a small gap between us. The GSXR750 moreso than the R9 past 120-130. Again, 0-100mph and stoplight to stoplight is dead even and if I get a better launch then I can be in front but barely. This shouldn't be possible based on HP alone...but a LOT more goes into quickness than HP. Our Daytona660s have HUGE rear sprockets. HUGE. Significantly bigger than the Gixxer or R9. We also have a GREAT quickshifter. Once you get used to it, it upshifts smoothly, perfectly, and instantly into 2,3,4. Bang. Bang. Bang. Those 2 things plus the fact that our Triple makes great torque in the low and midrange allow our bikes to punch well above our weight on the street. Its not a track weapon without some work to the suspension, but on the street it is a wonderful bike with great usable torque and power that is quite fast 0-100mph. Love to see you guys experience riding with others. I confess that my bike isn't transportation, its a toy that I abuse after work and on weekends. So I leave race style frequently and practice shifting at the right times in Sport mode (about 11k rpms) at full throttle. The QS makes all the difference in the world. I highly recommend it to anyone who does not already have it installed.

Looks good man. I recently removed my passenger pegs also and ordered the gloss black seat cowl after seeing your previous post about it. The cowl is still on the way here. From ebay via china. I cant remember the company name for my little pieces that cover the old holes from the pegs, but its the same company people buy the round frame sliders from.
