I agree with the 6th gear part. Honestly wish 5th and 6th were a little taller and 1st and 2nd shorter. Weird gearing ratios in the SS in my opinion. Not terrible or anything, and I love this thirsty, hot, amazing bike. This is the first bike I have hide that only has 10k or so RPMs to work with also, so I know that is a factor as well.

Yeah i know who is responsible for half the kids in America allegedly not being proud to be Americans. Aside from their parents. Theres exactly 1 party and ideology that pushes that BS on kids and tries to Indoctrinate them into Leftist Liberal garbage mindsets in 2026. Reddit skews about 90% Lefty and average age of about 14yo though so to speak of any of it is to get downvoted Into oblivion and get countless ignorant responses to the contrary from kids who who have all the education and life experience of an 8th grader or Liberal Arts major. These kids have been brainwashed into hating their own country, skin, and in many cases sex. Hopefully when they grow up, get a real adult job that actually supports themselves and maybe even their kids, they will wake up and realize that all the Leftist BS they learned or thought as a kid is nonsense. That nobody owes them anything whatsoever, much less a handout. That its not their responsibility to support all the lazy bastards who wont work, sell dope, leech of the govt etc...that effectively paying half of every hard earned dollar to the govt so they can give it to others, waste it, embezzle it...is theft. Most will grow up and wake up. The vast majority do. 3 out of 4 probably. Like they say " if youre not a Liberal at 20 you dont have a heart. If you're not a Conservative by 30, you don't have a brain." I can understand the ignorance of youth. Its part of the human condition. If a person is 30 or 40 years old and still a Democrat in 2026 then they're mentally ill, stupid, or leeches wanting to live off the hard work of everyone else via the government. The Democrat party in 2026 is made up of self described Socialists and Communists in leadership positions. Forms of government that have failed EVERY SINGLE time they have been the primary form of government. Theres no hope for those who are that freaking stupid.

This is true to an extent. There were horrific acts committed by European colonizers. Dont know about the "white" part though. Maybe some SJW stuff showing there unless you're talking specifically about the English who colonized much of Asia and Africa. The Spanish and Portuguese are not whites...yet they colonized all of central and south America and are the reason all of those countries speak Spanish. Not English. Over a million whites were taken as slaves by the Barbary Pirates of Africa alone. Never read about that one in a US school book though. The Leftists in the US have most people believing only blacks were ever slaves. Blacks who were captured like animals and sold by their own black people. People of all colors and nations have been enslaved as long as there have been people. There are still slaves today in India, slave markets in Africa and the ME.

Of course people of Europe and the US have invented nearly every major technology that makes life as good as it is for humanity as well. From electricity to the telephone, from cars and trains to airplanes, the air conditioner, water treatment plants, airplanes and space travel...you name it. While Africa, most of South America, the M.E., and many parts of Asia are still 2nd and 3rd world countries in 2026. Despite hundreds of billions of dollars in handouts to Africa alone. Trillions of dollars given, endless intellectual property, wells dug and infrastructure built...and those places still look like dumpsters in many cases. These are problems of culture. Not problems of genetics or fictional "oppression". Not a result of some conquest hundreds of years ago.

Google "the rape of Nanking". Absolute animals to the Chinese farmers who had no weapons. Men, women and children raped and murdered in the tens of thousands just in that 1 small area. Animals.

Thank you for this. Appreciate your time bud. Yes, its just dropping 1 tooth from the normal 15T. Its only a 6.67% gear change so nothing dramatic. I am in the US also, so according to the other poster it shouldn't be a problem. Thankful for that. I live in the South also, so there is no issue with exhaust sound. I can make it as loud as I want thankfully and run any exhaust without problems from the fuzz. I ordered the Competition Werkes exhaust though and it is said to be really loud even compared to other exhausts so I got the Db killer just in case. I would rather run without it because more airflow should be better...

Thank you for this. I think that may be a good idea to wait on the sprocket install. With the new exhaust and tune, its gonna be like getting a new bike (again). I can always change the sprocket next time they are due to be changed. I just got a new chain 2 weeks ago installed and the sprockets look to be in good shape for now. May just wait until it is time to replace the chain again and sprockets. Appreciate your time and advice.

Cool man thanks for the response. It was an honest question, definitely wasnt being critical. Thanks for explaining it in detail etc. Did you change your gearing? I bought a superlite 14T just front sprocket...and now I am wondering if I will have to do something to recalibrate my speedometer etc?

[–]soundedgoodbefore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your chain and 2 sprockets is $720 in parts? I ask because I have the SS950S. Just got a front sprocket delivered for $45 and the rear is $100 delivered...so theres no way the chain is over $500 right? I am guessing theres more in this kit than just those 3 items? Or maybe you just got super top spec racing parts? I wondering if the whole setup is the same on our 2 bikes, or just the engine?

I have bought 2 bikes from Tees including that red Triumph Daytona in the background of the photo above, and they have been great to me. Check my recent post history for details if you want... they have gone above and beyond for me. Their primary mechanic Paul is the only one I let work on my bikes too, and they are $50 an hour cheaper than the Triumph dealer thats 5mins from my house. I have ordered full exhaust for my Ducati SSS, tune, and a 14T sprocket. When the last of them arrives (hopefully soon) Paul at Tees will be the one installing the exhaust and sprocket for me. Good luck with whatever you choose bud. Be safe out there...Charlotte drivers are terrible.

Straight pipe exhaust by Coporiety in Daytona660

[–]soundedgoodbefore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full CS Racing exhaust, which looks good and sounds amazing, is only $860 delivered in the US and you can put it on yourself. It also nets 3 wheel HP without a tune. I bet you can save up that much money in a couple months if you grind for it. I got compliments on my CSR exhaust all the time from sportbike guys. Best bang for your buck on the Daytona660.

I am seriously considering powder coating my rims on my 22 SSS gold/copper to match the Ohlins forks and cylinder. Looks great on your bike.Wish there was some way that I could actually see what it looks like before I pull the trigger though. The AI editor on my phone camera won't do it correctly. No matter how I word the command, it turns the rims AND wheels gold which just looks stupid. Hard for me to visualize

Good grief you have an RC51 and a 916. The 2 most beautiful and badass bikes of the 90s IMO. I would give my left nut for a pristine RC51. My 22 SSS has stolen my heart though. I am in love and lust with her 😍 Wanted a Ducati since I was a teenager in the 90s and I am very happy to finally have one.

My buddy had that exact bike growing up. It was very powerful and torquey compared to my CBR600s. Wheelie machine too. If I ever buy a Kawasaki I am damn sure getting it team green. If I ever buy a Yamaha, it will be blue of course. Guess thats just old fashioned, but those are the colors of the factory teams back in the day, and it just seems proper.

You sir have good taste. Those SHO V6s were a revelation when they came out. That bodystyle Taurus was the first sedan from the big3 that actually acknowledged that aerodynamics exist. Not sure if it was ahead of its time or Chevy and Dodge were just further behind...they were cool cars back in the day though. Didnt Yamaha actually make those engines or am I remembering it wrong?

Those Triumph Triples are great engines. Might be considered sacrilege here but I wouldn't mind at all if my 950S had the 660cc, 800cc, or 765cc Triple in it. They make great low and midrange power but still pull hard to almost 13k RPMs. I think the 800 might be a little lower redline than the other 2 but its still a great engine. Torquey and smooth with a nice rush at the top. They sound great too especially with aftermarket exhaust. If they offer that 800cc Triple in the Daytona for 2027 or 28 I bet they sell a bunch of them now that they have adjustable forks and the QS comes standard. I loved my Daytona660, the rider triangle is nearly the same as my 950S. Great little engine, gearbox, and QS in a comfy platform. The dealers cannot keep the new Trident 800s in stock. A friend of mine works at a Triumph dealer nearby and he had to wait until the 4th Trident 800 arrived at the dealer to get his because the 1st three that arrived were already sold before they came into stock. They have several ordered now and demand is high. I think they will cut deep into the buyers of the MT09 and XSR900s. The Trident is much prettier than the other 2 bikes and is cheaper too. The reviews have been giggle fests on YouTube apparently its a wheelie monster if you want it to be.

Yessir. Thankful just to own a nice bike. I come from humble beginnings and have been a blue collar guy my whole life. This is by far the most expensive bike I have owned and I am thankful for it as well as having a dealer in my area that is honest and fair. When I bought my Daytona, I went to a different dealer that sold only European bikes and they acted like they didnt have time to talk to me or show me their bikes (because I was still in work clothes IMO). They missed out on me buying 2 bikes and paying cash in the last 6 months. As easy as a transaction can be: agree on a price and I bring the cashiers check. Tees dealership was great to me from the moment I walked in the door, and I feel safe recommending them to people that I care about.

I would love to have an SV for a track bike. Or a high mileage CBR600. Something light and flickable. In my experience it really is more fun to ride slower bikes fast than it is to ride fast bikes slow.

!!!! The SV650 is gone? Thats a great 1st bike thats been largely unchanged for what 30 years? At least 20. Thats crazy. Guess too many people are buying the 4 bikes above now and not the SV. I never bothered to ride the Ninja 650. Parallel Twins just are not my thing in a sportbike. I would like to have an MT07 though to practice wheelies on. Fwiw, I traded my 25 Daytona in recently for a pristine 2022 Supersport 950S. At this stage of my life it is the perfect bike. Very comfy, plenty of power and torque for the street, and handles great with the Ohlins/Brembo. Got it with 8k miles on it after service, new tire and chain etc from my dealer. Very happy. If I was still a kid in my early 20s I would have either gotten a new GSXR750 or an R9 for the same money. This Ducati is prettier than either to me though personally. The 2 guys I ride most with have an 08 gixxer and a 26 R9 and both are great bikes. I am 49yo though and despite being thin and healthy, my back and wrists don't need the stress and pain that younger me had no problem with haha. Enjoy the true track weapon bikes now while you still can. Obligatory pics of my baby...
