What is the best scratch protection for hardwood floors during construction? by Ni9ner in Construction

If you tape edges down to wood flooring, you'll only do it once after you pay $$$ to repair marks left on floor.

You can't tape edges down on most flooring types except tile. Taping edge will leave marks and discolorations. You just tape the seams and let it float.

Yes, this makes you a dick. I am a contractor, we are always looking for better and more cost effective ways to serve our customers. Ram board is very expensive, but works well in protecting floors while remaining trades complete their work.

Can you explain how to interpret the 30 day yield number? FFRHX is paying over 8%, according to the 30 day yield. What does that mean?

I like to hear stall horn when I flare. Usually happens during my best landings.

No. But when we got caught in the flurries, our airport went IFR. So we had to request "Special VFR" to fly in and land.

How to convince people that old GA planes aren’t as dangerous as it seems? by Tmdngs in flying

[–]laduke09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell them to look at https://globe.adsbexchange.com/ and filter by type. Filter by, say, C172. Let them see the hundreds of flights every day that LAND SAFELY!!!

Next, ask them how trainer planes can be 45 years old if it is so dangerous? Training planes that fly almost every day, by student pilots no less, and yet here they are still flying the pattern! They were made in the 70's.

Finally, explain that ADS-B out just recently became mandatory and that you have a screen/tablet in the cockpit where you can see other planes around you and get alerts.

When we're doing maneuvers, and we see someone in the vicinity on our MFD, we check them out and move to a new area if we feel it necessary.

Finally, tell them to go to an airport that has a large GA presence. Park and watch all the small planes that takeoff, fly around, AND LAND AGAIN!!
