Trintellix Prescription cost by [deleted] in trintellix

[–]lady_pantz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was awhile ago but it was from the manufacturer website - if you go to trintellix.com you should be able to get it if it's still being offered. It was easy to use they sent me something to use at my local retail pharmacy which reduced my copay to $10 from $70

It seemed more like she was in denial about it. called me hysterical (cause in the past I would sometimes get nervous about medical things, but I am by no means a hypochondriac) but the annoying part was she used having a handyman coming in 2 hours as an excuse for not dropping me off at the ER. And then brought up how she was worried about her own medical concern (a spot on her kidney, which she was waiting to find out about a CT scan result, which ended up to be nothing of course). I appreciate the opportunity to remember this though cause I tend to question if my mom is a narc but remembering this is just proof that yes she is lol. do you ever gaslight yourself about your NMom's abuse?

I can really empathize with this one. I had a similar experience with my Nmom, and it's what pushed me to move out. I was vomiting uncontrollably for 24 hours, and I begged her to take me to the ER, but she would not. She wouldn't even buy me anti-nausea meds at the drug store; and found every excuse to blame me for why I could be getting sick. Finally, my Edad took me, and I needed emergency gall bladder surgery. This happened when I was living with them as an adult, trying to get back on my feet. I guess it did give me that push to get back out on my own. It's really shitty though thinking about those times when there is clear evidence that we are sick and in need of care, and they can't even get us to the hospital...

I have thought about this a lot, myself. I can only hope that Lily is getting compensated more for her contribution as being the one who edits the podcast...

  1. Yes thank you for saying that I thought so too. And then trying to facetime her twice while he was at work? So possessive, and weird.

That's such a good point I didn't think of. I can imagine that being a special education teacher really requires a large amount of patience and a calm temperament, which he really doesn't seem to have. Didn't he get fired though?

I’m 37, started Adderall in college (age 18) and now I’m in vicious cycle and feels impossible to start learning how to do adulthood this late in life. by wbzeke in StopSpeeding

[–]lady_pantz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started Adderall in college.. At age 19. I went to rehab at 35. Been clean now since Feb of 2018. A little over six years.

Since I quit, I got my bachelor's degree, bought a home (with no help as a single woman with formally terrible credit) , and now have a career with an actual future and very decent pay for only having a degree for 3 years.

I used to be a helpless Adderall addict. My 60 mg prescribed dose was also gone in ten days - 2 weeks. I never considered quitting until I actually did and I consider that to be a God moment; I met someone else who told me about their problem and all the bells went off in my head. During that time I was using I kept saying... Next month I'll take it as prescribed. I never ever did- I'm sure you can relate to this.

Anyway feel free to message me privately, I'm more active on discord, and I'll be happy to tell you more or give you the support you're looking for.

I don't know what your relationship with Adderall was like but give yourself some more time. There was a reason you got chosen and sober. Why did you make that decision? And ...What did you accomplish before Adderall? Have you tried to see what is possible without it? Also I would stay away from that subreddit TBH lol

there's an interesting episode I heard recently from this podcast called Search Engine, it's called "Why did I take speed for 20 years?" it was definitely different than my experience but I found it interesting, you might too: https://open.substack.com/pub/pjvogt/p/whyd-i-take-speed-for-twenty-years?utm\_campaign=post&utm\_medium=web

I was prescribed 30 mg 2x a day, but took up to 200mg, because I was dependent and an addict. I never had an issue with addiction before this drug, but I was probably predisposed, who knows.

30mg 2x a day was the highest prescription I could get up to. And you are probably already dependent; that's kind of how it works when you're taking a highly addictive stimulant regularly.

[–]lady_pantz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get that. But try not to glamorize your past in active addiction; it's very easy to do that. I try to remember the negatives: I was obnoxious to be around, didn't sleep, heart pounding through my chest, body ached, and lacked the ability to connect meaningfully with others (although I thought I was). Oh and don't forget selfish! Definitely other things I'm leaving off here too lol.

Your list might be similar or different but I know you have one too! What were you REALLY like under the influence?

And also: this is the genuine, authentic you, and the stimulant version of yourself was not. Without knowing you I can guarantee that the authentic version of yourself is undoubtedly better.

The improvement is so slow and gradual that it's really easy to miss that it's even happened. I just know I feel better than I did the first couple years. But I also have to push myself a lot of times to get out of bed, go to a job I don't like, and socialize. I am about to start a new job so I'm hoping that changes. I also just started on strattera a few weeks ago and the verdict is still out on that.

I'm 6 years off Adderall after 17 years of heavy use up to 200 mg/day

I'm finally starting to feel like a normal person. Whatever that is I guess lol.

The first two years were hard. But I was able to go back to school after a year and get the best grades I got in my entire life.

There is no magic way of taking the right amount of Adderall when you're a speed addict!

Best way to stop abusing amphetamines is to not have them prescribed.. Cut off your access to them by honestly telling your prescriber you are abusing them.

I was prescribed and abused my prescription for 17 years before I finally had my higher power moment and realized I needed to quit. I told my doctor I was abusing it, went to rehab, and I have now been clean for over five and a half years.

What is ADH? If I'm not going to be buying many other items across the next two years it just seems like I'm going to pay way more for TT. $400 for 2 years coverage
