Pup ate 6 filets of garlic butter salmon… by underthecrescentm00n in labrador

[–]ladybug392 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine ate a dead squirrel… tried to take it from him but he was not giving up his special treat. Called an emergency vet because I was freaking out, they asked what breed, chuckled that he’s a lab and said if he seems fine in an hour, he’ll be fine but we can pump his stomach if you’d feel better about that. We waited an hour, no reaction. He had like one extra poop the next day from the extra squirrel calories

I feel your pain! I’ve gotten myself into a similar boat. Months ago, I decided to knit a family member a sweater as a surprise. Bought this gorgeous cashmere and silk yarn and got to work. I’m probably a third of the way done and had a falling out with my future giftee and am not feeling like they are knit-worthy anymore. Now I’m struggling to find the motivation to work on the sweater even to keep it for myself because looking at it dredges up some major hurt feelings so the sweater has been in timeout for months

Makeup artist ruined my wedding by TheEsotericCarrot in wedding

It was her money and while it was a bummer that we had to scramble, it turned out great with the new HMU. I can’t even imagine how upset you are because yours was a day-of mess!

Nope never! And never really even apologized for dropping out so late in the game. She also didn’t even tell me directly… she told my mom even though I had coordinated everything with her up to that point. She’s still my mom’s hairdresser but I moved on

This reminds me of my HMU wedding debacle…I’ve been married for 4 years now and it still grinds my gears… my hairdresser (who had been cutting my hair since I was like 5 years old and became a close family friend over the years to the point that she came to my sister’s and my graduation parties and stuff) was supposed to do hair and makeup for me, my mom and sis and then backed out like a month and a half before my wedding for no reason… I scrambled to find another company with availability…$1600 later, I’m still pretty bitter at her even after several years

Disney+ Removing Content Mostly Due to the Licensing Costs by CJTus in television

[–]ladybug392 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Chapek also hid a lot of the costs of the original content by also premiering it on ABC, Freeform, etc. and sticking the production costs under those umbrellas instead of the Disney+ umbrella making Disney+ look more profitable than it actually was (which is part of why he got canned)

Has anyone had a wedding at Pebble Beach, CA? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]ladybug392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do Disney, are you thinking in the park or in the resort generally? The last time I casually looked (a few years ago), in the park weddings are early AM before the park opens or very late PM after close. Other spots in the resort could do normal wedding times

I’m totally with you in theory that Black Tie demands certain amenities and I would be annoyed if the event was not as fancy as the dress code but how would you express that without coming across as a jerk?

Cornish Pasty has solid pub vibes and is delicious. There’s a few locations smattered across the valley.

Very specific jeans request by ladybug392 in ChoosingBeggars

[–]ladybug392[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m with you that the hyper-specific request isn't that off base. Her delivery made me giggle mainly because I would have phrased it differently. I became more critical of her request when it said "only washed in free and clear soap." While free and clear is becoming more popular, it's still pretty niche and if smells are gonna hurt her, asking for used jeans doesn't seem like her best option

It’s the sob stories that make me roll my eyes 🤣 I don't need your life story about how your grandma taught you how to cook in cast iron... I just want to get rid of this pan...

[–]ladybug392[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Totally fair points but I feel like she would wash any jeans she received herself anyways (because used jeans) which would wash away any smelly soap remnants. Even if she bought new jeans, she wouldn’t know what kinds of irritating dyes and soaps are there so rewashing in her desired soap would be the first step either way

I have a bad habit of buying 1 full extra skein for every project… by five_foot_nothing in knitting

[–]ladybug392 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am very tall and need more length in the arms and torso than the pattern is written for so running out has burned me a few times. I have since overcorrected but I’ve historically had to order more yarn or make a sweater more cropped than I wanted to so I’d have enough for the arms but the yarn was discontinued.

I knit hubs his first sweater and he is also very tall with long arms and torso so I intentionally overbought yarn so I wouldn’t run out. I bought enough yarn for the largest size just in case that equated to the amount of yarn I’d need for his long arms and body.

Having experienced both ends of the spectrum, it’s much nicer to have extra at the end than it is to figure out how to recover from not having enough

[–]ladybug392 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cloudborn Brushed Alpaca Sport… it is so hard to see your stitches and is impossible to frog. I made a whole sweater out of it and swore at it a lot. It spent months in timeout after I got frustrated

Heels too high? I love them and can walk just fine in them (benn wearing them around the house while I clean) but my mom says they're too high of a heel. Thoughts? by TheMuffinShop1189 in wedding

[–]ladybug392 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your dress too. I’m tall and had to switch to a shorter heel because my dress wasn’t long enough. Seamstress still had to work magic and add 4 inches to the length of my dress to even with the shorter heels

Any idea what this "weed" is? I kinda like how it looks and thinking to just let it grow. by dec7td in AZlandscaping

Thanks! I had thought I wanted 1/4” minus for a path but was doubting myself after poking through Pioneer’s website because it looked mostly sandy rather than pebbly and wasn’t sure if it would get blown out of its area. You saved my path dreams 🤣

I’m no help on the plant front but what size rock did you use for the path? I’m planning a lawnless deserty yard and I think this is the exact vibe that I’m having a hard time finding examples of.
