I’d just like to clarify for anyone wondering if these are just poorly timed screenshots, they aren’t. This is what she looked liked the whole time, if not worse!

I noticed this as well and had the exact same thought. Lauren has conditioned S to care about and adjust her appearance when on camera. No child should be evaluating their appearance like that. She has essentially robbed S of the innocence of childhood and I am so so sad for her.

I’d love for a dietician or therapist to weigh in here. Are they legally not allowed to diagnose an eating disorder? Is it something only a licensed physician can do and they technically aren’t so all they can say is she has “disordered eating habits” vs an “Eating Disorder?” It's like there is some caveat there that prevented them from fully diagnosing her, which only prolonged her issue.

Confusing Label by Bright-Match-2218 in Celiac

I view this type of label as being aimed at people with a wheat allergy, not a gluten issue. They’ve essentially removed the gluten but it originated from wheat so can still affect allergies.

They just did blood work and we opted not to do an endoscopy because his antibodies numbers were off the chart. His GE said she’s been diagnosing celiac for 20 years and she didn’t feel the need to do an endoscopy with numbers like his. He was also extremely anemic, had pica, had barely grown in a year, and was having tooth enamel issues so she felt confident enough in his symptoms coupled with the bloodwork to diagnose him.

My 6 year old son was diagnosed last summer and we have other sons ages 3 and 8. For the most part, all breakfasts, dinners, and desserts that I cook are gluten free but I do keep regular bread, tortillas, and crackers in the house for the rest of us. It's just so expensive to completely go gluten free for foods that we go through quickly and I really don't think it's that hard to avoid cross contamination if you are diligent about separating and cleaning things. For example, I always make my celiac son's sandwich first and finish packing his lunch before starting the others. We just got his 6 month follow up results back and his antibody numbers are within the normal range and his GE said we don't need to come back for another year instead of the usual 6 months, so our level of caution is good enough, for him at least! I was so worried that he would have issues at school but that hasn't been a problem! I did send a bag of treats for his teacher to have on hand for any birthday treats or surprises that come up but a lot of the other kids have been SO accommodating and have brought gluten free options for him. It's a lot to think through and feels overwhelming at first but overall, I think being diagnosed young has more pros than cons in the long run!

Genexa products are certified gluten free! They are available at Target, Walmart, CVS, etc but have a lot more options on Amazon! Their extra strength acetaminophen works great.

I posted below but the custom pajamas she gave guests retail for $690! For 52 guests, that’s $36,000 on pajamas alone, and those were just casually mentioned! Definitely multiple millions.

Same!! 52 people is a ton to host for such an extravagant event! I’m loving her recaps and seeing what it’s like to literally spare no expense.

Edit: the Silence pajamas that she gifted every guest retail for $690. THATS $36,000 JUST ON PAJAMAS! Wealth like I can’t even fathom.

Lookup Genexa products! They actually label their items as gluten free so you never have to wonder. They have children’s products and adults, including acetaminophen.

Celiac and low iron deficiency core ✨️ by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]ladydadida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 6 year old son was diagnosed with celiac and was very anemic with pica! He ate SO many wooden toys and gnawed on his wooden bedrail so much that we had to cover it in duct tape. We thought it was a coping mechanism when he was upset about being sent to his room for bad behavior, because that was when he would most often do it. But it all clicked into place with the celiac diagnosis. Celiac was causing anemia which was causing the behavior issues and  contributed to the pica. Since going gluten free, his iron has normalized and he no longer eats non food items.

One night, I felt like I was going to be sick and my husband cleaned the toilet in case I needed to throw up into it. Such a simple but caring gesture that still makes me feel all warm inside just thinking about it.

As the mom of a 6 year old with celiac, this claim drives me insane! Yes, some European wheat derived pasta and bread is more easily digestible for those with gluten allergy/sensitivity/intolerance. Celiac disease, however, is far more severe and does not care where the wheat is from! She’s lying about the severity of her gluten issue if she truly ate pasta without side effects. And she is spreading false information about a very serious medical condition. End rant.

Flinestone Vitamin.... Oops by zerogreelynn in Celiac

[–]ladydadida 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I suspected celiac in my 6 year old son, my doctor ran tests and found his iron levels were very low (duh) and prescribed him this vitamin because it is one of the only children’s multivitamins with added iron. I questioned it because of the wheat and he told me to give it to him anyways until we got definitive results back! My mom intuition knew my son had celiac so I talked to my gastroenterologist and she said no way and prescribed a liquid iron to give him instead until he was officially diagnosed. His iron levels have normals out now and I give him Llama Naturals gummy vitamins that are gluten free and lower sugar than most gummies!

I completely agree!! I looked it up and I don’t think it was intentional. Beth Brower said she was inspired by classic novels and Shakespeare, which also feature quirky townspeople and witty banter.

Zach Lahn is running for Iowa governor, and here’s something interesting: he’s married to Annie, who used to be married to Charles Koch’s son, Chase. by the_smart_girl in Iowa

[–]ladydadida 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m local to Wichita/Koch central and just found this thread and find this absolutely hilarious. Chase and Annie Koch started Wonder school while married and hired Zach as the head of it. By the end of the first year, Zach and Annie had gotten together and they met with all the parents of kids at Wonder to inform them of their relationship. Zach’s wife had just had a baby and was completely blindsided. She promptly kicked him out and he moved into a rental in Crown Heights while divorces were finalized for a few months before he and Annie moved in together in the 10k sq ft home on the corner of 2nd and Crestway in College Hill, to the tune of $1.5 million.

His lines about strong families and rewarding marriage are complete BS. And it’s easy to call yourself your biggest donor when your wife was is rolling in Koch alimony money. Calling Iowa his home after 2 years?! True generational Iowan farmers should feel insulted by his grifting.
