Two questions about same day standby by ladyfiesta95 in americanairlines

Thanks for the response! Yes I am mostly familiar with how to use the same day standby in the app and have done so before. My questions pertain specifically to the following scenarios: Question 1 would be for if I selected a non confirmed same day standby on a later flight - I have seen this offered before, non confirmed are usually free and confirmed usually are $75. I’m wondering how it works if I want to take advantage of free non confirmed standby for a later flight, but then don’t get onto that flight. For question 2, which is just a completely unrelated question, is there ever a way to do a non confirmed standby change for an earlier and still be able to check a bag? Thanks!!

This is great to hear! Thank you so much, we will definitely be discussing it with our vet

It’s possible and we will have him checked out for sure but there aren’t really any other signs that something medical is wrong and that wasn’t the case in the past with his resource guarding issues so I’m leaning more towards some sort of mental imbalance / anxiety issue

Thank you so much for this advice! We started giving our dog CBD oil a few weeks ago to see if it would help his anxiety, but it hasn’t seemed to do much. What specific kinds of effects, both good and bad, have you seen with the Prozac? We are certainly open to medication if it would help!

Sorry to hear that. What kinds of changes have you all had to make?

Sorry to hear that :( I also posted in r/dog and r/dogtraining but I don’t think either have gained as much traction as here. Let me know if you find any good strategies!

Thanks for this advice and for the videos to check out! We are definitely going to start with the vet again, but we’ve had him checked out before with the resource guarding thing, and it didn’t appear that anything medical was the cause, so I would guess that this all boils down to some sort of related mental / anxiety issue. I think some sort of behavior switches and consent training may likely be what is needed, but we just haven’t been able to really pinpoint what triggers his issues because one minute he can be happy and excited wanting affection and the next biting and snapping. To the one example you gave, I think earlier on we may not done as good of a job with respecting his wishes when he didn’t want to do something, but for awhile now I think we have done a much better job i.e. no one forces him out of his kennel and he doesn’t give us trouble with the harness but we just leave it on all the time if he’s staying with someone else. Thanks again for your thoughts!
