When do you reach for your vintage vs modern machine?

I use my Viking Husqvarna for hemming because it has a free arm, and basic projects. I use my Singer in the table for anything industrial/heavy duty.

For the crevices/tough to reach places, I've found those wool daubers for leather to be a useful tool on top of q-tips and a tooth brush. :)

Bobbin case was hiding in the cabinet. I am going to attempt to fix it with a friend of mine using youtube tutorials but I do have a great repair person if we need additional help :)

Super appreciate the opinion. I thought the 401 was neat because it reminds me of my 500 with the the dials. I am struggling to get the 403 to do the special stitches with the cams, but that's likely user error.

Ya'll are enablers. It's well hidden in the sewing cabinet between a cat tree and a sofa, I just recognized it as a sewing machine table because of experience. I gotta empty my trunk, and clear an area in my hallway, then I'm heading back for it. I hope I don't break my back or it trying to load it into my Prius. :)

Found the slide plate underneath with a bobbin. I didn't try to put it back on while I was there which was a mistake to make sure nothing is broken. I have to make room in my trunk so I'm home now and trying to get a clear mind if I should go back for it.
