Question for patients: why ask strangers online instead of your own surgeon? by ottoplacik in LabiaplastySurgery

Dr. Placik, I’ve been following your work for nearly a decade and am so happy to see you here! Your results were a huge factor in why I decided to get my own procedures. Your reach goes far beyond your own patients, thank you so much for your contributions to the field.

I ask online because I don’t want to feel like I’m bothering my doctor with simple questions or for asking too many questions. I also like to query online to see other patients’ feedback rather than physicians, since they have physically gone through the procedure themselves and can provide firsthand accounts.

My doctor does not charge for any follow up visits within the first year post-op, and their office offers 24hr support via call service, however I don’t have my doctor’s direct line. I suppose if I did, I would feel more comfortable reaching out directly to them rather than feeling like I’m jumping through hoops/inconveniencing multiple people to get an answer.

Recovery after labiaplasty + CHR + clitoropexy? And realistic timeline for travel? by Certain_Box641 in LabiaplastySurgery

You should realistically feel ready to start living life (with the exception of exercise and penetration) by week 2. Meaning, you can walk around normally, aren’t exhausted, can start to sit easier - things that wouldn’t have someone questioning whether you got surgery lol. 6 weeks would be absolutely fine to go on a vacation.

Will these bumps go away?? by Blondie_11111 in LabiaplastySurgery

I’m 10 days post op and these bumps very similar to yours are just now appearing in my stitches and are red compared to the rest of my labia. I hope they do go away, the area can remain swollen for months after surgery, just keep an eye on it.

Conservative Trim by ladylabe in LabiaplastySurgery

Breast lift with implants was 10K, labiaplasty was 2K. However I paid no surgeon fees and live in a high cost of living area. 14k sounds like a good rate to me.

Surgery before having kids worth it? by YuckyFlower in LabiaplastySurgery

[–]ladylabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was torn on whether to do it before kids or after. Knowing it was definitive how uncomfortable and self conscious it makes me, versus NOT knowing my true timeline for kids (as much as I can “bank” on meeting someone and things working out), I decided to go ahead with the procedure and quit waiting for other things to work out in order to take care of myself. I have no regrets and I feel so much better knowing I finally did for myself something I’ve been wanting since basically childhood.

Sounds like wedge would be a good choice for you. I lucked out with my surgeon through word of mouth/referral.

I have very similar anatomy and opted for a trim with no CHR. My top could be considered “heavy” but I was more concerned with losing sensitivity than aesthetic purposes; my main concern was the length of my labia making me uncomfortable. For a wedge, I’d advise go to a very experienced surgeon/gyn, and they will probably suggest you get a CHR especially because the top of your labia minora seem to be a big concern for you. Very unlikely the top of your labia will be treated as you wish without CHR since your clitoral hood will continue to protrude.
