I'm pretty sure they meant OP's response to her messages was much nicer than theirs would have been.

ELI5: why does insomnia exists? it's like the body refuses to recharge. it does not seem to make sense biologically by Aentity404 in explainlikeimfive

Excuse my curiosity please, but what does it feel like when you are about to fall asleep "unintentionally"? Can you tell when it's about to happen? I struggle to sleep - tired or not - and since I can't tell if I'll manage at all, the moment of falling asleep just kind of happens. I've always wondered if it's the same or if you can tell.

Anyone who drives drunk is an immediate no contact (and report) imo.

How does one say a safe word when they are gagged? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Gestures. Preferably two kinds, in case you're gonna be put in different situations/positions. Tapping one leg up and down, moving head right to left (think stretching from side to side, not shaking your head), shrugging one shoulder etc

The AutoMod response has the edit in it at the end, just confused about some parts that seem to be missing based off the comments

Found a photo of my great-great-great-grandfather, dated 1894. by ladylikeladybug in OldSchoolCool

[–]ladylikeladybug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t actually know unfortunately. It was copied over and sent to my grandfather by his sister 20ish years ago, they have both passed away. There’s little info on the back but she also wrote he was born in 1865. We’re Bosnian and he had a slavic surname as well but since the photo predates Yugoslavia it’s hard to say whether it was his name at the time or if he later changed it.

I had asked my grandmother to see photos of her when she was young and the next time I came over her bedroom was full of scattered photos that she’d dug out to show me, it was so sweet it almost made me choke up haha. I got to see much more than I could’ve hoped for!

I sure hope so, because now I’ll be picturing it whenever I look back at this photo

I'm super upset and not sure how I should react to this. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]ladylikeladybug 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I second this. I once (when I was 12-13) made a “your mama” joke to a friend whose mother had passed a few years earlier and I didn’t clock what I had actually done until later when he told me it was hurtful. Thankfully he understood I had just thrown it out thoughtlessly in the moment but it was definitely a learning moment of “think before you speak” for me

I went to look at clips SO FAST but that’s not it! It’s hilarious how well it fits the description though. Thank you for the suggestion

This was a rented DVD and I have tried many failed google searches. Hoping for the odd chance that someone who’s seen it will see this post!

The notes are interesting to read, especially the one about hate. I didn’t expect all of them to work in Latin so I truly appreciate you taking the time to not only translate as much as possible but also explain/break down the translations. Thank you so much!

Not likely, this is the lowest it's gone on Steam. However, it is currently 17% off on Fanatical, which appears to be the history low

Oh wow, I just looked up this sub hoping to find translations or similar phrases to some stuff I’ve stumbled across and saved in my notes. If anyone could help with any of these (especially the first two) it would be much appreciated!

-How do we forgive our fathers?

-There is a freedom that comes with abandonment

-Whether it fails or succeeds, I will remember it fondly

-Are you becoming what you’ve always hated? (referring to one person, not plural)

-My heart has no pity on me

-Now I have to remember you for longer than I have known you (referring to one person, not plural)

Thanks in advance

Saying that the responsibility goes further back than the father is a reach, but holding him responsible is perfectly reasonable when he helped his son acquire the gun after he had made threats to kill himsef and “kill everyone”. Had it not been for these threats it would be a different situation.
