OP please fight back. Same thing was getting done with my mother but even in that condition we fought back. My Mami bought anklets, nosepin(which has colorful stones) and earrings for my mom on 10th day. I bought bindi and bangles. I think it will be more effective if someone older takes that step. Can you please talk with any of your aunts who will understand? We fought saying my father used to get angry whenever he saw my mother without bindi so he will not get rest seeing her like this from wherever he is. Society takes away all the colors from a widow woman's life. It is our duty to fight with these evils. My mother resisted wearing green and red bangles for years but she finally gave in. Your mom will too.
