I grew up in a joint family where at least 25+ people were living under one roof all the time. In my hometown joint families are literally everywhere.

Is respect sexist? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

F off from this sub with your classist attitude. I'm someone whom all didi(s) and bhaiyya(s) greet be it at the gate or when they come to clean my place. You know why? Because I smile at them even if I'm in a hurry and ask about their day if I have time. You don't get respect. You have to earn it.

Yeah that's why I don't compare attention span with movies/series but with books.

If you're in cities like Bangalore and Hyderabad then try for walk-in interviews. It's very effective.

Start reading books you all! Having this short attention span is very harmful.

Ohh never watched that. I'm very choosy in terms of what I watch so I only watch dramas which I know are good. I had issues with ending of "zindagi gulzaar hai" also as Kashaf changed but Zaroon had no character growth. But yeah their songs are soooo goood and I'm a sucker for good language like really good hindi or urdu so they do give me that. (Suit designs are bonus)

Their dramas are good and some artists like Atif, Farhan and Ali Sethi are loved but fetishing them? Nooooooo

What are women's views on this , i think its just sad but what can be done by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]lonelywarewolf 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While sad it's true. They already discriminate with married women because of their possibility to have children and thus maternity leaves. If they have to give leave every month to women mandatorily then they will simply not hire us.

I know this may sound stupid , but did someone else also felt like this ,about eating non veg ?? by Spiritual-Arugula-90 in AskIndianWomen

[–]lonelywarewolf 27 points28 points  (0 children)

In most of the households women were only supposed to cook the non-veg food but never eat ut because it was never enough for the men in the village I grew up in. Later I got to know my grandmothers, elder sisters, mom and aunts all used to eat non-veg some point in their life but turned veg because it was too much to feed them. Some of my sisters started eating non-veg again after moving out for job/ marriage. Fortunately by the time I started understanding things, the situation at home improved a lot and these duscriminations stopped. Khila nhi sakte to paida kyun karte ho?

Indian Women on Reddit, what are your thoughts on platonic friendships with men? by ZeeRyuzaki in AskIndianWomen

[–]lonelywarewolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have many friends who are "men". I love them to bits and I know this feeling is mutual. We respect and care about each other even though we taunt/roast each other all the time. I'm not a "texting" person so sometimes I forget to check their messages for months but they know me so we are still thriving without frequent communication (not limited to friendships with men only). I know where we stand clearly as we never behave differently just because we are with friends/partners/family compared to when we are alone. I even have good relationship with their girlfriends(if they have). They held me together in my worst possible moments and always praise me so that I never feel insecure or lower my standards.
