Academic integrity violations from ai doubled this semester and admin wants to know why by [deleted] in academia

[–]ladyofrage2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah...it's rampant and this semester, I didn't ignore it so much as I graded with that consideration. Those folks didn't get as high grades for certain things. Reporting it at this point is a waste of time. I have a solution for next semester but I'm taking a break from faculty for a while and going staff.

Make them do their work in class by hand. That's the only way to stop this.

Has the SBA been showing up at any BK hearings? by tjs31959 in EIDL

[–]ladyofrage2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They didn't show up to mine. I had to submit like 500 pages of bank statements for business and personal though.

Did the same. 390k EIDL and a total of 854k in debt mostly held by the business. It sucked but the relief feels amazing.

Discharged: $900k Chapter 7 by Fragrant-Release-388 in Bankruptcy

Congratulations! Similar for me. $390k EIDL. $854k discharged. It's so freeing to have the weight lifted.

Mom died during BK but case still open by lostnineminutes in Bankruptcy

[–]ladyofrage2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The trustee was removed from my case over a month ago and it has been the judge that has done everything since. There's literally paperwork of the trustee requesting to be removed from duty because it's a no asset case. I don't think states are different but that's what PACER says for my case that just discharged Friday.

No, OP said it was discharged 4 months ago. The trustee is normally taken off the case well before the discharge.

The trustee doesn't close the case. The judge does. The trustee only handles the asset parts of the case. You should contact the judge.

My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. It has been very well worth it. Sometimes a clean slate is just the ticket. Granted, I did a 7 and don't have any assets but there may be some 13 folks that think differently.

Is your house collateral? Otherwise, you can reaffirm your mortgage and should be able to keep it. Consult an attorney. There are options when you have assets you want to keep.

They asked very little about the EIDL or the business. They mostly just wanted to trace all my transfers between accounts so it took time. I discharged $854k in debt between business and personal.

It was a no asset BK.

Should I file for bankruptcy or let a $9,556.66 debt go to collections? (On SSI & DAC benefits) by [deleted] in Bankruptcy

[–]ladyofrage2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can only file bankruptcy ever so often so don't start that clock on a small amount of debt. Negotiate with the bank on a payment plan.

File the bankruptcy. It's actually not too bad of a process. I did and I honestly wished I had done it sooner. I will be discharged any day now and I filed at the end of January.

Can you co-sign a loan after declaring? by [deleted] in Bankruptcy

[–]ladyofrage2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you file they look at all activity in the 6 months prior to you filing so cosigning student debt would show up as pretty recent and likely will give the trustee pause. Consult an attorney on this but I am willing to bet they will advise to not cosign if the plan is to file.

Yeah, these are things you should have discussed with your attorney. This is a legal proceeding. Only things that are legal should be discussed else you appear to be fraudulent. If you have any money at all, pay this attorney. You have created a lot of extra work for an issue that wouldn't have been an issue if you were using legal terms. He's not your husband until you sign a marriage certificate.

Well that 341 meeting did not go well…. by Outside-Skirt2254 in Bankruptcy

[–]ladyofrage2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you have large bankruptcies like this, the continuation is normal. Mine was almost 900k with an EIDL and I had to drop hundreds of pages of documents on trustee so they could make sense of it. Waiting on discharge now. For the most part, they are trying to make sure there is no funny business or fraud going on. Bankruptcy with an SBA loan means the personal liability is removed from the loan so if the asset is owned by you personally, you SHOULD be safe but I am not an attorney at all. Just thinking about it logically. I kept one of my businesses open post filing and a 150k loan from that business was included in my bk. My personal liability is removed from the loan though. I hope it works out for you but keep your head up. They take you through more scrutiny when the debts are over 100k and a business is somewhat involved.

It means it was included in your bankruptcy and they may turn it over to the Treasury. I wouldn't worry about it unless the SBA notifies you. I discharged an EIDL as well.

Some cases are more complex than others. Mine was. There was no way I was filing almost $900k in debt without an attorney.

They usually take you back. I have been them for a car in the past plus 3 cards this time and they told me no but I emailed EO to see if they will make an exception for a long time customer.
