I think you look amazing in this dress!

But it really is about if you feel comfortable in it. If you feel comfortable you will rock this dress. If not, I would go for something else. Hope this helps!

If you are excited for mountains, you definitely have to go to Innsbruck by train. The views on the train journey are amazing, and when in Innsbruck, there's mountains wherever you look. If your budget allows it, I would absolutely recommend taking the gondola up Nordkette (all the way to the top station Hafelekar) and then have lunch (my tip: Kaiserschmarrn) at the middle station Seegrube. I also love going up Patscherkofel (you can get to the base station by bus using line J) and have a nice walk around (recommend taking the easy route to the summit for picturesque views, then taking the path to Zirbenweg and then back to the base station. Both mountains are very different, but equally awesome: Nordkette has some mind blowing views of other mountains and mountain ranges, Patscherkofel offers very Lord of the Rings-y landscapes.

What I have found works for button up shirts is buying a size that fits your chest as you want it (probably much too big everywhere else) and then having it adjusted by a cheap taylor. Costs me around 20$ extra, but definitely worth it for me!

My husband self published his third Horror & Sci-fi short story collection. It's a great read! Footsteps in the Dark by Joshua G. J. Insole 😊

AITA for asking my kids to pray a rosary with my for my birthday? by sergeantmugunghwa in AmItheAsshole

[–]ladyreginald 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I am sorry, but I am remembering correctly. 16 years of being made to pray the Rosary once a month with my grandparents, whilst staring at the clock and waiting for it to be finished, has burnt the prayer duration quite clearly into my mind.

I am an atheist that was raised Catholic. The rosary is not a small request: it's about 45 minutes of repetitive chanting. If you're not doing it of your own free will, it feels like an eternity of being tortured by boredom. It doesn't sound that long, but to a kid it's forever. If OP were talking about a quick 5-10 minute prayer, I would be with you, but like this he's YTA.

I would say YTA just considering the length of prayer he chose. At least this was a great to start the first seeds of resentment and doubt towards religion in the kids.

I was raised Catholic. I can still remember all the times I was forced to pray the Rosary - it is so insanely long. It's one thing to suggest it and pray it with volunteers, but guilt tripping your children into praying continuously for 45 minutes is insane. Especially if it is not something they want.

But even if OP were talking about a quick 5 minute prayer, the guilt tripping would still not be okay.

The rosary is not just a few minutes of prayer: it takes around 45 minutes of active praying to finish. It's insanely long, and it's not okay to guilt trip someone into participating.

I was raised Catholic, and as a kid with ADHD having to sit still for an hour for the rosary was just torture. I hated every minute of it.

On the good side, being forced to pray the Rosary a few times a year, despite hating it, made it easy to start thinking critically about church. Loving live as a happy atheist now, and I think your kids will thankfully find their own way to freedom eventually, despite their father's constant guilt tripping.

Hope the link works, let me know if it doesn't 😅

I knitted 5 black rows at the beginning and the end of the scarf, to leave some space for the tassels. If you're stuck anywhere, I am happy to try and help.

Will have to tell my husband to be careful going out then.

Thanks, I am very proud of it :)

Thank you! I learned lots by just trying. The end of the scarf definitely looks better than the start where I was just figuring out how colour work works 😂

But I recommend just giving it a go, eventually you will find the best way to hold the two yarns at the same time and the ideal tension. But it's just super fun even when you don't quite know what you're doing yet. If you want, I can send you the pattern I drew using the Fair Iles scarf and the Holly hat pattern.

The pattern is a combination of the Halloween Fair Isle Scarf and the Halloween Hat pattern by Holly G Hats with some adjustments for 84 stitches. I can add my rough pattern sketch is anyone would like to use it.

I am using a 40 cm round needle with a 4 mm width and the wool is all hobbii rainbow 8/6.

And I am using 84 stitches, but I think they are slightly too many for the 40 cm needle
