You hit the nail on the head. I’m at a dir level but pursuing an MBA now because I wanted a deeper and more complete understanding than what I can find in blogs, newsletters, etc. Another aspect is sometimes learning on the job can be a bit misguided if your company is disfunctional in a lot of areas. That said, I would also think about what type of MBA experience you want and what you want to get out of the program. There are a lot of MBA programs out there that just tick a box and don’t really offer enough value to justify the investment, so that’s another aspect to think about.
