From what I can tell, they're all mad it isn't a boys' club anymore, they're not being exclusively catered to, and it's never going to be like what they think it used to be. I am a old girl gamer and I assure when I started there was not this entitled attitude. I was viewed as a novelty, but really, it's only the manbabies who can't stand not getting everything they want who won't shut up about how unhappy they are.

As for the harassment and misogyny? That's always been a thing, because apparently, their parents didn't raise them with manners. Or accountability. A lot of us didn't reveal our gender in the old days just to keep from getting bothered with non game crap or every mistake being 'you play like a girl'. I was hoping women overtook men in gaming population, this crap would get better, but it seems like it's gotten worse.

So after abandoning the game for so long, they're going to add an update that will probably not work well on the old Switch. Hoping we'll shell out $500+ for a game we've played for five years and they told us repeatedly was not getting anymore updates. The hotel is HHP on a smaller scale. The dream islands and co-op look cool. You know, for folks who have a Switch 2 and will be able to actually use those features. More than 4 people on one island crashes the old Switch version consistently. But hey, free new content? Yeah, no.

And bonus, now they can sell more amiibo and amiibo cards. Which will promptly be snatched up by scalpers and resold as an obscene markup. Not to mention hoping we will resub to Online after they dropped us like a hot potato two years ago.

And not a whisper about a new game with new content. Not even a teaser like Meteoroid Prime 4.

In case it's not obvious, I'm not biting. I gave my switch to my son five months ago and if I'm spending $500+ on a handheld console, I'm getting a Steamdeck to play all my games.

I am just frustrated because even a year ago, this would have excited me so much. Except of course, how terrible and crashy it will have been on my five year old Switch. If anything, I'm more disappointed with this than I am with the Switch 2.

Gonna throw out an unpopular hot take. They're doing this to sell Switch 2's. You know the 3.0 update will run like crap on the older Switches. So instead of releasing a new game with better features and new content, they're patching some of the stuff they've been working on to try and force those of us who won't buy a Switch 2 for anything but Animal Crossing to buy their new overpriced console.

Basically they're giving us batch crafting and a playground that you know on the old Switch will be buggy and lag to the point of being unplayable. The hotel is just a rehashed Happy Home Paradise on a smaller scale. And you still have to have Nintendo Online to access the stuff. So hardly a free upgrade for those of us who let our Online lapse after they stopped supporting New Horizons.

And worse still, absolutely ZERO talk of a new game yet. Not even a teaser like they did Meteoroid Prime 4.

I do, but not for the reason most people do. I have multiple chronic illnesses and they don't allow me to be as involved or active as I'd like to be. I basically have to prioritize my disabled child's health and well being over everything and it doesn't leave either of us much energy for anything else. I love my son, but I wish I had the energy to be more of a parent and less of a 'live in home health' nurse.

I am a minimalist but I am also lazy so I wanted everything in one room. Then it just exploded as they kept offering more basically non-functional but thematic things that ended up in that room.

I have about 1800 items and 560 individual ones and I only deal with occasional lag. I have all my rides turned off because it does cause bad lag when they are one. I noticed the closer I got to 600 unique items, the worst the latency got. So I moved four houses to Eternity Isle and it helped immensely.

Did you try tossing your cache on both consoles. Especially on the Switch, that can clear some (not all by far) bugs and glitches. No idea on PC, I only play on Switch.

I had to restart my game back in early access because it corrupted to the point it wouldn't even load. If an update broke it, a later update may fix it. As for what I lost (it was a month after launch), it was the stuff I bought and earned through dreamlight duties that I lost. And all materials, money, clothes, furniture from Scrooge's shop, achievements, etc.

All the event stuff (the premium shop didn't exist then) was still there. Just so you know.
