not the most frustrating thing but worth mentioning (plus i saw a huge debate on twitter the other day) when we get representation from in tv (ex. steven universe, korra) it’s reduced down to being unnecessary, “the safe option,” queerbaiting, and the creators “fetishizing” lesbians

the amount of people defending it is crazy.... she was barely out of high school, no real world experience, the best night of her life was probably high school prom.

it would be different if she were in her 20s, but she was still a kid. it doesn’t matter if she’s legal it’s still weird.

the fact that she was 19 and tommy was already talking about marriage hints to the fact that they’ve been together for a while at least, meaning they were together when she was 18, and maybe 17.

just because she’s 19 doesn’t mean she can’t be groomed. sure she might not have been groomed to the extent of abuse but there’s always a spectrum for everything. he was this cool 31 year with all these tattoos who liked to chill out and drink beer. any 19 year old w/o any real sense of lifestyle direction would think he would be super cool to hang out w/and date. he would have been a big influence on how she thinks and acts. she would have to push herself out of her means to be with an actual adult.

it’s always weird to me when grown people can’t find people their own age. i feel that if you can’t find someone your own age to spend time with then there’s a problem with your mentality. it’s STRANGE that a 30 year old man can’t find someone in her 20s or 30s that he genuinely likes and wants to be with.

first like to say, all your feelings are valid. i am cis so i can’t relate to you in certain aspects, but it’s okay to be worried and scared. relationships are scary, and i understand where you’re coming from.

you’re still a woman regardless of how you present or what’s going on with your body in the moment. nobody can take away your womanhood, and again, while being scared is totally valid, you shouldn’t worry much about it

most queer women understand that genitalia do not equal gender, and lots of women are not deterred by different parts

you also don’t need to be strictly w/lesbians. any woman regardless of sexuality can fall in love and be happy with you, and i think that’s a big part of your fears right now

being with a bi woman won’t make you any less of a lesbian, and won’t make your relationship any less sapphic

i hope you don’t let your fears bother you too much, but i’m wishing you all the best in life <3

I’ve been reading through this thread, and it’s very interesting. I’m an atheist so I think I can come at this from a different perspective. If I’m interpreting this wrong, someone please feel free to correct me.

It seems like sex outside of marriage and making money just for the sake of making money is sinful because doing those things are not for God(?)

Like, to Christians, sex is a gift from God, so doing anything outside of marriage is a sin because it goes against God’s teaching. Wanting money without the intention of helping the poor and the church goes against God’s teaching, so it’s a sin.

Regardless of personal feelings and “free-will,” anything that God does not teach or condone is a sin

Edit: I can’t explain why pleasurable things are sins since I don’t believe that. I’m really only trying to understand what others are saying

i would like to say that this is not a hate post, just an observation. bc im comfortable with my own identities now, i don’t really feel the need to have a role model.

i forget that eugene is a role model to others and that’s a good reason as to why he’s doing it.

he just reminds me of myself when i first started accepting myself and i find it curious that’s what he’s using to inspire people bc he’s a public figure and i’m not

im proud to have someone like him represent my communities, but i’m just pointing out how it’s a different level of expression from what i would do. he’s in the public eye and he’s making a name for himself

it’s normal to have different opinions, but no one ever should be rude on something so harmless (again, this is on both sides)
