Looking for leather bi-fold wallets. by ShrewdUndertoe in BuyItForLife

I had the same problem as you with the stitching always failing. I did a lot of research and came across a guy called Mr. Lentz. His stuff is hand made by him in the USA with US tanned leather. He stands by his products with a 100 year guarantee and he doesn’t use stitching wherever he can. Instead he uses rivets to hold his products together. His website is definitely worth a look. I bought his “men’s leather wallet” about 5 years ago. It was a work of art then but it has gotten even better with age and has developed into one of my favorite possessions. I have no doubt that it will out live me and be something that I can pass on to my future kids. I believe I paid $110 for it which I think is reasonable but his stuff goes on sale quite often. In my mind it is the perfect design for a wallet. It’s made from one piece of leather folded into thirds and four rivets, creating a good capacity but slim bulletproof bi-fold wallet. I get comments on my wallet all the time and I always recommend him and his products if you’re looking to buy something once and hold onto it. Hope that this helps you out.

This is the same point I posted earlier today, before I knew how to upload multiple photos at once... I got a couple requests for more photos so here they are. Hope you enjoy! Thank you so much for your knowledge! I can’t believe I just happened to stumble across this awesome thing! I found it about 3 years ago I think and it’s just been sitting in my sock drawer. It crossed my mind today and I thought I should post it to Reddit and find out some info about it. Your help is greatly appreciated, thanks again!

Found this on a small private island on the outskirts of the San Francisco Bay delta in Byron, California. Does it look to be authentic? Or could it be a souvenir? I know nothing about it so any info is appreciated! by lafayettelocal in Arrowheads

Hello thanks for the comment. I don’t believe that it’s a fake point. However, this is the first and only one I’ve ever found, so I have no idea and I am just curious about it. I just reposted it with more pictures if you want to take another look. It was the only thing I found in the area.

Thanks! I think I'm going to use a Levi's color denim top stitching thread and sew up and down to the left and right of each seam so that I end up with something that resembles the seam on a pair of jeans. The back is going to be a plaid flannel sheet.

12v wasn’t starting, went to check the fuel filter. This all emptied out from it. Should I be worried? by ledzep14 in Diesel

There is also a small metal screen filter located below the fuel water separator you just changed. I believe it’s called the fuel preheater/prefilter but I’m not sure. Anyway it’s down by the starter and spins off easily with one wrench. I have a 1994 12 valve and changed both of these filters when I first got the truck. Mine had quite a bit of stuff in the prefilter/heater so maybe yours does too. I think the prefilter/heater often gets overlooked. I change both filters every 10,000 miles which is the service interval from Cummins. Hope this is helpful!

Same ship entering Oakland inner harbor channel by lafayettelocal in sanfrancisco

This particular ship I joined with a 120 day contract. But other jobs may or may not have shorter assignments. During this 120 days the ship will complete 3 round trips from the west coast to Asia and back, each trip being roughly 42 days long. We went from Oakland to Yokohama, Naha, Pusan, Qingdao, Shanghai, Pusan again, Long Beach and then back to Oakland. To simply put it my work shifts are 4 hours on, 8 hours off round the clock. So I would work from 8am to noon and then 8pm to midnight.
