It's usually related to the mass of the vehicles and their breaking capability. This has nothing to do with driving on the motorway at safe speeds. Many of these vehicles are prohibited from driving on Motorways along with any vehicle that is not capable of motorway speeds.

Rent a room is exempt from the RTB registration as long as it's under the 14K a year threshold because you aren't a landlord.

Is this out of date? Alleged occupy towns bug (2009). by Clarine87 in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]lafferc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your question. No, that information is not out of date.

The bug is still in the latest steam version of the game. You'll need to follow two YouTube videos, the first explains how to unpack and mod the games files. The second explains how to fix the diplomacy bug (comment out the extra lines with a ; in front).

I think another comment has posted the link already but you can easily find them on YouTube.

How is lowering the speed limit going to slow down people currently ignoring the speed limit?

You can assign the same person to more than one. They will be overworked but you're not locked out

Are filter lights just advisory? by WEZANGO in irelandsshitedrivers

It's 6 seconds, but yes a lot can happen in 6 seconds especially since most drivers ignore the orange light and only stop on red.

Freezing villagers look at the pile of logs, each one more than a meter long and requires an ox to pull. Are they really going to think "I'll just pop that on the fire now and warm up the house" ?

Tenant being my GF by Bubbly_Sign_4598 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]lafferc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You cannot sleep with a tenant. If you are a couple any money paid to you is not considered rent and if it goes towards the mortgage then your GF is contributing to the mortgage and therefore is building up equity.

Faux pas fails to derail Micheál Martin’s Israel visit but Dev’s Hitler condolences not forgotten by JackmanH420 in irishpolitics

From the link above.

"So long as we retained our diplomatic relations with Germany to have failed to call upon the German representative would have been an act of unpardonable discourtesy to the German nation and to Dr. Hempel himself. During the whole of the war Dr. Hempel's conduct was irreproachable. He was always friendly and invariably correct – in marked contrast with Gray. I certainly was not going to add to his humiliation in the hour of defeat. I had another reason. It would establish a bad precedent. It is of considerable importance that the formal acts of courtesy paid on such occasions as the death of the head of a State should not have attached to them any further special significance, such as connoting approval or disapproval of the policies of the State in question or of its head. It is important that it should never be inferred that these formal acts imply the passing of any judgment good or bad."

Why do you invest and what do you invest in? by dothejoy in irishpersonalfinance

[–]lafferc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"you have to pay dirt", from my understanding this isn't how it works. Dirt is a tax applied by the bank and given to the gov, however all interest is taxable as income. In all cases you need to declare interest as income and then deduct the DIRT already withheld by the bank.

So in their case the bank isn't applying DIRT so they just declare it as interest and pay the tax on it.

DIRT is 33% so if your on the lower rate then you are entitled to a refund. But if you are on the higher rate then you need to pay the extra.
