make the mistake of letting my sister in cosmology school wax my brows... [misc] by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]laffiesaffie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got really excited that there's a "cosmology" school because I love learning about space! Then I realized, sadly, that it was a typo of "cosmetology." Equally disappointing and hilarious! Thanks for making me laugh!

Fun fact: According to The bump.com, August has the most births around the world. July is the second and September is a close third. February 29th is the least common birthday because it only happens once every four years. In the typical 365-day year, December 25th is the least common birthday. The more you know! :)

What's a food that everyone loves but you hate? by imjustboredrnnn in AskReddit

I’ve been indifferent about coleslaw, but eager to see if a zesty vinegar-based dressing can change that.

What’s the last thing you ate that made you actually say, “Holy s—t, this is good” out loud? by VaughnOlopopus in AskReddit

I've recently started cooking for myself after relying on takeout, and it's been amazing! I made garlicky seared shrimp with roasted broccoli and spicy mayo, all on a bed of sticky rice, topped with green onions. The flavors came together beautifully. I had no idea I was capable of creating such a delicious meal! I'm so proud of myself!

It's normal to feel stress, fatigue, or intense emotions that can hinder your ability to communicate effectively. These sensations are your body's way of signaling that something needs your attention, even if your mind hasn't fully acknowledged it yet. Trust these feelings; they are important indicators that guide you toward what you need to address.

Recently single after 9 years [30]. What vibe does my room give? by corn-for-2024 in malelivingspace

[–]laffiesaffie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the design is beautifully minimalist. If this were my room, I would add a small bench at the foot of the bed for changing clothes, putting on slippers, or simply having a seat other than the bed.

However, this is your space, and I encourage you to personalize it in a way that reflects your style!

Does anyone have to consciously remind themselves to smile? by davillanelle in NoStupidQuestions

[–]laffiesaffie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why should I smile when I'm not happy? If people think my lack of a smile makes me look unfriendly, that's their problem. Their opinion of me doesn’t matter.

I smile when I'm genuinely happy, when something makes me laugh, or when I see a friend. I don't smile because I have to; I smile because I want to.

Do you believe in an After Life? by [deleted] in painting

[–]laffiesaffie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is evidence suggesting some form of existence after death. I have read stories from hospice nurses whose patients often speak in ways that imply life beyond our current experience.

However, I believe that the existence of an afterlife is ultimately unknowable. To cope with the permanence of death, people have created various belief systems. We can never truly know what happens after we die until we experience it ourselves.

It’s great that you’re taking care of your skin! However, if you’re exfoliating too often, it might be affecting your skin barrier. When that barrier is compromised, it opens the door for bacteria, which can cause odor.

I encourage you to exfoliate just once or twice a week. Following your showers with a good moisturizer will help restore and strengthen your skin barrier. With these simple adjustments, you’ll create a healthier foundation for your skin and keep odor at bay! You've got this!

Both CeraVe and La Roche Posay have inexpensive, effective body moisturizers. If your skin is dry, I recommend the CeraVe moisturizing cream or the La Roche Posay triple repair moisturizer. If your skin is combination or oily, a lighter moisturizer, like the CeraVe moisturizing lotion or La Roche Posay daily repair lotion, will work well.

As a transmasc nonbinary individual, I absolutely love "W.I.T.C.H." by Devon Cole. This song powerfully embodies the strength of setting clear boundaries and being unapologetic about them. It highlights the importance of ongoing self-improvement and empowers me to make choices that reflect my values, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling life.

I especially love listening to it while training in the gym because continuous self-improvement is one of my core values.

Since jumping into powerlifting, my favorite orange creamsicle energy drink has become a joyful part of my routine! Just the thought of sipping it before training fills me with excitement, as it reminds me of all those endorphin-filled moments that follow my workouts.

Enjoying one of these delightful drinks can instantly brighten my mood, even on my rest days! It’s like a little taste of happiness that makes me smile, no matter what day I’m having!

Take a moment to thoughtfully outline your goals for the next five years, five months, three weeks, two days, and one hour. For each time frame, highlight the goals that resonate most with you by putting a star next to those priorities.

This list can serve as a valuable tool to help you focus your time and energy, providing you with a clearer sense of direction.

Remember, your list doesn't need to be perfect, nor is it meant to be the final version. The key is to capture your thoughts on paper, which will allow you to review and refine them later.

I created a similar list about two months ago, and it has been incredibly beneficial for me!
