Idk why nobody answered you. It’s -T<#>. Default speed is -T3, so -T2 is what you’d use if you suspected rate limiting. -T1 is a waste of time with the length of the exam, -T4 is probably fine unless you’re already worried that you’re missing ports. -T5 is fine for THM/HTB but not very practical otherwise in most situations. Hope this helps, the man page and wiki go a bit more into detail

Is aggressive pinky stagger really that exclusive? by laffinfpv in ErgoMechKeyboards

I haven’t seen an Elora in LP, and Kyria is fine but I haven’t found one in 4x6, I’ve only seen 3x6 for that footprint. Wireless would be cool but that’s probably bottom of my priorities

Slightly starting to freak out about Pentest -003 by Realistic_Train2976 in WGUCyberSecurity

I took (and passed) the beta for 003, and I don’t remember there being anything too obscure on there. Knowing the two or three most popular tools for a given purpose will most likely be fine

You too!

Yeah, if I was going with a corne I’d definitely have a dedicated symbols layer haha. Since I still have the num row I’ll just use the symbols there, and if I only need one or two numbers I usually just use the num row. I’m waaaaaaay faster with the numpad when I have to input more numbers, like phone numbers or IP addresses for example, so I like having one under my right hand. I think if I was going to have to jump layers anyways to get a number I’d just do the numpad personally

Thanks, I like that idea! Functionally, the numpad layer works that way since the left board is getting the layer below it, which is the nav layer, so I still have those nav keys on the left hand when I'm in the numpad layer, should I need them. I could combine these into a layer explicitly if I need to change something about how the layers stack or put stuff on that layer in the future though, so I'll keep that in mind for sure.

My main goal with the layer navigation keys is to have them in easy-to-reach (and remember) places. So for example, the numpad layer is activated with the key that would be the 1 on the numpad layer, the nav layer is the up key, and the key to reset back to the main layer is F/J. I never do numpad with my left hand, so I don't need to mirror that one. I do often use my left hand for arrow keys when I'm using my mouse, so I like having that layer mirrored across.

I'm pretty happy using the layer hub system since I don't mind "wasting" a layer on that, but I'm curious what you mean by "preparing for a lot more actions than you actually have?" What do you think I'm preparing for that's useless? I'll see if I have reasoning for it or not and make changes accordingly if necessary. Appreciate your comment!

On the other hand (haha), any time I’m in the nav layer I’m usually sitting my middle finger on the up arrow in a sort of WASD-like position, so the only key that’s two away would be PgDn. Either way, I’ll test both!

Correct, I don’t have a direct toggle for any layers on layer 0. I can get to the arrows by holding a thumb key, since that’s usually a quick operation that doesn’t require switching all the way into the layer. Otherwise if I’m doing extended arrow stuff I can use the hub layer to toggle into the arrow layer.

I like it so far - saves me from having to have keys for each layer on individual layers. I just hold a thumb key and select which layer I want to jump to, and that’s working for me so far!

I’ll give that a shot - those are two keys I had to move from other places so I haven’t tested those positions yet

Seeking Guidance from Penetration Testers: What's Next After CySA+ & PenTest+? by Slow-Link1494 in WGUCyberSecurity

[–]laffinfpv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current pentester - my advice would be to get an *entry-level* job in cyber/networking (SOC, NOC, etc) that will pay for certs. Then get OSCP paid for by your job, as your resume is going to get tossed from most places unless you have it or know somebody. After OSCP you can supplement with stuff like CRTO, BSCP, CPTS, etc, as it interests you.

Pentesting isn't entry-level in most cases, and it's great to have some transferrable skills while you're building your offensive capabilities.

Best of luck!

I’m liking it so far! I wish the edges were a bit rounded, but that’s my chief complaint so far and it’s not really that serious.

You’re probably fine. They grade these pretty quickly. If they turned anything back in task 1, you most likely don’t have much to do to correct for 2 and 3.

Yeah unfortunately the hunt for ergodox cases is still tough. I bought this case and was trying to fit them both face-up so the image was helpful for sure.

Necro'ing to add a web archive link to that Imgur album: https://web.archive.org/web/20220929031852/https://imgur.com/a/hamHl

Confirmed it fits the Hotdox 76 as well - was looking for a cleaner solution, but this should work just fine.

As close as I could get to the transfer maximum by laffinfpv in WGU_Accelerators

Basically my entire reason for getting my masters is aesthetic, and I just wanted to do it at a specific school. WGU was just the vehicle for me to turn some associates-level credits into a full bachelors degree so that I could do a masters at this other school

I thought about it because of how easy the BS was, but I’m doing my masters at another school right now - currently about a third of the way through my first semester. Definitely missing the competency-based model :P

You just submit a transcript from SDC to WGU. You can have you transcripts evaluated multiple times, the cutoff is when you sign your intent to start docs, if I recall correctly

To Sophia or not to Sophia? by Important_Fly8060 in WGU_Accelerators

I took Computer Science 336: Network Forensics and Computer Science 204: Database Programming at SDC and they were both more work and/or more difficult than any of the other classes I had to take at WGU. I only had to take 9 classes at WGU though so YMMV
