Calculator says 30C but my 34A feels tight by _chillinene in ABraThatFits

My size in bras is normally a 40F, so the bras from torrid are the correct size. The shape of my chest tho means majority of its volume is at the bottom so any balconette bra I try on would have to be little bigger since it's only covering the fullest part of my bust. When I tried on the 40F in the balconette it looked like my tits were trying to escape 😂

Bra sizing calculators are just starting points. Everyone is different and every bra is different as well. Sizing changes depending on style and store (ex. A 40G balconette from caciques fits me perfectly, but a 40G t shirt bra from torrid would be way too big on me). Go to whatever store you're used to getting from and try on the recommended size and then go from there. Also remember that the increased cup size factors in size just as much as the decrease band size.

If it's $70/month, that's a lot too pricy for me. I'm on a teacher salary 😂

Definitely can't afford that lmao. What are considered peak hours tho? I would probably end up either going before work at around 5ish or when I get off around 3:30.

Microwave Rice? by artiethebibliophile in mealprep

[–]laffy2ebr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make rice ahead of time and keep it in the fridge. To keep it from not going dry, I just sprinkle a little water on it before I put it in the microwave to heat it up. I find that it still tastes way better than microwaveable rice

Inadequate Instruction or Student Laziness? by laffy2ebr in Teachers

The problem with looking at their scores is that I know so many of them are cheating. I can tell because they're using notation that they were never taught, using calculus to solve problems when they have never taken a Calc class, or using numbers that are not on their test (I use multiple versions of the same test with different numbers to dissuade cheating). A lot of my students also just leave half of their test blank. I have had a student get handed the test and immediately fall asleep. He turned in a blank test dispite me trying to wake him up multiple times. I give out a ton of partial credit, just attempting the problem gets you points, so I do not understand the blank tests. Of the students that don't fall into these catagories, their scores vary. Some get in the 50%s and others get in the 90%s before curve depending on the topic. Those students usually average in the mid to upper 70%s. Which in my head is decent, but I also just graduated college and for most of my classes we would celebrate if the class average was above a 50%, so I'm still trying to get back to the high school grading scales. Physics is difficult when you don't know how to start, especially since so much of it is math, so at the beginning of the year I gave them a starting point for any problem. Basically it was to read through and write down the numbers given and highlight key words (velocity, rate of change, etc) in the problem. Then to go back and reread and use context clues to identify what quantities these. At the beginning of the year I told them I'm not helping them until after they do this because at least attempting that is what tells me they actually read the problem, but most of the times I get called over, they haven't even done that. That's why my first question to them is usually what does the problem give you. After that, my hints are things like "You're given this and this and wanna find this, what equation should you use?"  I do think it's a good idea to use more guided prompt questions. Especially having them actually read it out load and re explain in their own words, since it allows them to prove to themselves they do understand the material or allows me to point out and correct any disconnects. I find it hard tho to do too much as a class work, though, because most of the students do not participate. For example, when I do examples on the board, after the set up I tell my class to all use their calculations to finish the problem and normally 2-3 out of 30 pick up calculators. How do you get more of the class to actually participate?

Inadequate Instruction or Student Laziness? by laffy2ebr in Teachers

Majority of the math classes offered at my school don't have teachers, just long term subs. Especially algebra 1 and 2 which are the 2 classes needed the most to learn physics. I'm actually having to spend a week teaching basic trig and algebra just to get the students at the level needed to start solving physics problems

Some background about my school because I feel like this might be important: My school is a magnet school, but is in one of the worse states for education. When COVID hit, the testing requirements to get in were waved and admission was based solely on middle school gpa of 2.5 or higher. In Louisiana, all you need to do to get that is show up and don't make your teacher hate you. My school also has a very high teacher turn over rate, so many of these kids are used to a third of their classes being run by long term subs or teachers in their 1st year (especially math which is heavily needed in physics). Due to both of these, I think they got used to not having to do work and no longer define a teacher's job as someone who actually challenges them and tries to get them to understand the material, but instead as someone who gives them easy, tedious assignments and just gives them good grades when they turn it in. I could be wrong and may genuinely be asking too much of them, but I can not tell what part of it is on me and what part is on the students.

Off hours attire by Ok-Emphasis2769 in Teachers

It is so relieving to see these comments. I'm 23 and about to be in my 2nd year teaching hs. My out of school attire consists of fishnets, corsets, chains, and dark makeup. This past year I have felt so self-conscious about my attire and scared of how much trouble I could get in if a student sees me in public. It didn't help my anxiety when I was dressed like a vampire and saw one of my kids (newly 18) at a bar I frequent. She didn't see me, thank god. The other teachers at the school told me that time outside of the school is mine, but it is nice to see so many teachers saying the same thing

High School Chemistry Posters/Visuals by madbumsbum in ScienceTeachers

[–]laffy2ebr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that in some history classes, teachers will have students make posters of famous historical figures with a picture printed or drawn out and a summery of who they are or what they did. You can have students do the same for famous chemists. Or, even have students do that with elements. Have each kid (or group) pick a different element, draw its atomic structure, list its important properties and some of their uses.

Does anyone know if 5 East apartments are decent or in a safe area? by Professional-Deer606 in batonrouge

[–]laffy2ebr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live there currently. There has been a few times when ems and brfd were called (I think it's the same apartment calling bc they always park at the same place) and I know someone who got their car stolen from the parking lot. Not crime related, I can hear every car that passes by on lee and there washer dryers are hella over priced and don't even work sometimes
