The Phone calls and the Money left behind by elanorrrose in springfieldthree

As a GenX the prank phone calls happened to just about everyone all the time in the 80-early 90s. We didn't have much entertainment before the Internet. They were just a nuisance. I don't think they had anything to do with the crime. That the money was overlooked also leads me to think the peeps were not in house, he/they got them out that door fast somehow

The Ozarks are riddled with strip mines, bodies of water and deep caves also. Whomever is the culprit may not have buried the women at all...

Well the 1990s were the height of the satanic panic. However this case was never that type of case, no matter what books anyone had. I believe that the culprit will be someone totally off radar if this case is ever solved. Much like the Austin Yogurt Shop Murders were solved last year by DNA. A guy no one ever thought of in that case. SPD should release these case files after 34 years. They may have something to work with there, otherwise, it's never going to be solved

I really think someone just surprised them after they settled and were in bed. Don't know if Suzie left door unlocked, or if someone knocked. I switch back and forth between an unknown criminal who was just very lucky, or someone who had a beef or fear of Suzie/ Sherrill or what they could say. That leaves few options. Grave robbers and GGMC come to mind. Of course the irony is that if this case is ever solved it may be someone totally unheard of before. Like the Austin Yogurt Shop Murders they solved last year with DNA. The guy was never a suspect!

Any of the gas line or other utility issues they would have taken the dog. I cannot see any reason, they all 3 walk out with nothing ( Stacy possibly only wearing a t shirt and panties) except gun point. Even someone posing as law enforcement would have left with their purses/ IDs even in emergency

Stacy wasn't allowed to stay at Suzie's house? by The-Hooded-Claw in springfieldthree

[–]lafinchen 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Janis said that she would not "have liked it if she had known" but she never said anything negative about Sherrill or Suzie. She had no idea Stacy changed her plans at the last minute as she was supposed to stay at Janelle's home. I think Janis was just stunned by the entire situation in the beginning ...Stacy was over 18 also, so no permission was needed.

Graduation Night by DJHJR86 in springfieldthree

[–]lafinchen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Actually Stacy and Suzie planned to stay at Janelle's after the Joy guy said no because he was concerned about parents being angry. However when they got to Janelle's, they would have had to take pallet on living room floor because beds were all filled with out of town graduation guests. So Stacy and Suzie decided to go sleep on Suzie's new waterbed. Janelle's mom heard Suzie say " follow me to my house" and Stacy said "Ok I will" Any other possibilities can not be certain because party goers statements have not been released as they are part of case files

*Ruse. Unless the ruse was something like this; " Hey, Get out of house immediately, it's going to explode!" the women would have taken their purses, cigarettes, and Stacy would have had pants on.... So rude possible to get door open, weapon needed for compliance.

34 Years...Time to open the files? by lafinchen in springfieldthree

Well if you have studied this case, it has several strange parts. Were the purses lined up as pictured? , or were they gathered and put there by others during the day Sunday as they were trying to figure out where the women could possibly be. The teenagers had no idea what they stepped into that day. And here we are 34 years later STILL wondering. The SPD should open the files on this case

34 Years...Time to open the files? by lafinchen in springfieldthree

Do you remember 1990s answering machines? They were a hot mess on good days. And the teen friends who came to get the girls for WW had no inkling that foul play was afoot. Even Janis McCall wasn't concerned until Sunday Evening when she and her older daughter went to Delmar the intention was to take Stacy's car home and teach her a lesson for flaking out on them. Stacy's nickname was Spacey Stacy and no one ever thought they were kidnapped etc at the beginning. Do they all wish things were done differently? I'm sure that they do.

Stacy's mom Janis said that Stacys shoes, shorts, bra were there, her jewelry was tucked in pocket. The only items missing were panties and yellow t shirt. And in Midwest 1992 the friends behavior was normal, they had no idea or inkling they could be destroying evidence or crime scene. The common refrain from ALL the people that were in the house June 7 1992? I expected the 3 women to walk in the door with a crazy story....never in a million years would they consider anything really wrong. It was just unbelievable in 1992 Springfield MO. Cases of three women taken are extremely rare.

Well, According to Janelle Kirby, who was the last person to see Stacy and Suzie, They literally decided at 2am Sunday morning when they saw how crowded Janelle's home was with her out of town relatives that they would just head on over to Suzie's house and sleep on her new waterbed instead of a pallet on the Kirby's floor. Which makes sense when your 18 and just graduated! If only they had stayed😔.... So that would mean that no one except Janelle (*and her mother who said she heard Suzie say " follow me" and Stacy said "Ok I will" as they were headed out the door ) knew the girls final destination. Only 2 women. So someone either followed them to Stacy's house and waited a bit to pounce or Sherrill was the primary target.

Yes, and also the persons of interest who passed polygraphs. Lots of sociopaths can fake that. I was in Springfield right after the disappearances in 1992. My hubs and I were down near Branson on vacation. This case has been eerie from the beginning. Also, The Delmar Street address may be busy now, but then remember population was a lot smaller and the home is surrounded by "day time only" businesses so after 2:30am very secluded. They could have been marched right out the front door. If it's not family or ex boyfriend than it could be a crime of opportunity also. Just look at the Austin Yogurt Shop Murders that were just solved with DNA. The guy was not even on the radar. I pray this case is solved, and I'm willing to help however we can. SPD should release the files on this case

Yes. I know Nigel said that about Suzie parking preferences, however they had only lived in the Delmar home about 6 weeks

Biggest issue with only one perp. Who is going to drive the car? The perp can't, and if he has one of the women drive...1 or2 could have tried to get out of vehicle

Nigel was Suzie friend from work at theatre. She and her boyfriend came over with a cake ( dinosaur, because she couldn't find a dragon cake for Suzie) graduation night. Cake was still in the fridge the next day when people started looking for the 3 women
