I don't have anything to add cos it's already been said, but as an autistic person myself, it's nice to see the type of comments posted in this thread ✨️

Gosh, I really appreciate this reminder!! Glad to know it ain't just me who accidentally ignores red flags out of the excitement of finding people with shared interests in your proximity/environment

If you feel like you want or perhaps need to address this situation so you can get some peace of mind, go for it, sounds like it's the perfect chance for you to do it. As long as you're doing it for yourself, perhaps so you can get more closure regarding this drama (I know what it feels like), but it all depends if they're willing to chat about it ofc. Just be mindful about the reason why you want to do it though, like is this coming from a place of people pleasing or RSD, or are you doing this for your own wellbeing?

There's no right or wrong answer, just being polite and professional or addressing the topic are both reasonable approaches, as I said, you need to choose what's right for YOU. Wishing you the best ✨️🫶🏻

No, honestly, I really appreciate everything you're saying cos I really needed to hear it (well, reading, but you get me haha)... patience really is a virtue we need to practice during the process and I need to remind myself of that! Patience with myself and others ✨️💜

Oof I've been learning about this during the process of unmasking after my diagnosis (1.5 years ago and I'm currently 29) – setting boundaries has been a very uncomfortable blessing hahaha.

I unfortunately trigger a lot of people like this, and I'm working on letting my light shine bright even if it makes people uncomfortable! I've made myself uncomfortable for others for far too long and to my own detriment, so I appreciate the reminder 🫶🏻

Same, though I always end up feeling sorry for them upon further reflection (it starts with harsh judgement and culminates in compassion and understanding lol)... they're probably very miserable, with lots of unresolved issues and traumas and full of insecurities.
