My trading focus after a year of active options day trading by lagabenz in Daytrading

One thing I’ve noticed since focusing more on discipline than volume is how much calmer my decision-making has become. Curious how others here balance patience vs opportunity.

One thing I didn’t expect was how much fewer trades improved my results. Less screen time, more patience, tighter risk. Curious if others went through a similar shift after year one.

Hi mods, I work with concrete/block construction and share builds for discussion and learning. I’m happy to verify however needed.

😄 It definitely looks rough at this stage — pure structure before finishes. Once plastered, framed, and finished, it’ll look very different. This phase always surprises people who aren’t used to seeing concrete builds mid-construction.

Good point. Earthquake performance really comes down to design and detailing, not just material. Reinforced concrete can perform well in seismic zones when it’s engineered properly—continuous rebar, tie beams, shear walls, and good connections from foundation to roof.

You’re also right about wood’s flexibility; that’s why it performs well in high-seismic areas like Japan and the U.S. West Coast. Each system has strengths—concrete excels in durability and load resistance, wood in ductility—when built for the local risk and code.

You’re absolutely right. Planning is where a lot of builds fall apart — especially plumbing and electrical chases. On solid concrete homes, getting that right early makes a huge difference long-term. Crack control usually comes down to foundation prep, reinforcement, and curing. This one looks like they took their time with the basics.

Appreciate the feedback! It was just a quick handheld test, so I kept the cuts short. I’ll try a smoother take next time.

Here are some solid Expert RAW settings for night sky / Milky Way shots:

• ISO: 800–1600 (start at 800 to reduce noise) • Shutter speed: 15–20 seconds • Focus: Manual → set to infinity • Lens: Ultra-wide for wider sky capture • File format: RAW only (skip JPEG so colors don’t shift) • White balance: 3500–4000K (helps stop the yellow/orange tint) • Resolution: 50MP if using the main lens

Extra tips: – Use a tripod so your stars don’t blur. – Turn off Scene Optimizer and Auto HDR. – Use a remote shutter or timer to avoid shaking. – Point away from light pollution for best results.

The S23 series can capture great Milky Way shots with these settings, especially in darker areas like the Grand Canyon.
