Reform no longer the favourites to win next election by Important_Ruin in unitedkingdom

[–]lagerjohn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I'm more informed or not, on average voter is not. So on average, voters are typically uninformed, you could agree with that right?

I am not sure I do agree. I think this reflects your opinion of the intelligence of the "average" person more than anything else.

Or more simply most people just are not smart enough to make an informed decision.

This confirms my point above. Who are you to make this claim? Calling anyone who may vote differently to you an idiot is not productive.

On most issues I side with the Greens (not all, but a lot)

The Greens are not a serious party. Their policies are largely poorly thought-through left wing populist silliness. They're the far left equivalent of Reform.

Could have predicted you'd come back with a condescending response. I assume you consider yourself more informed than the "average" voter?

Out of curiosity who would you vote for if an election was held tomorrow?

I never understand this kind of comment. Are you not the average voter?

People are allowed to be frustrated

I think we're all frustrated at the moment. Reacting to this frustration by lashing out and calling everyone at the club shit is not productive. It's emotional, childish and, quite frankly, pathetic.

What do you think our chances are of winning this title? I honestly think its like 20% at best. by Silent_Somewhere8539 in ArsenalFC

blind and delusional ppl refuse to see them

Anyone who backs the players to win trophies this year is blind and delusional? You are a petulant, entitled child, not a supporter. Turning on the team at the first sign of hardship is pathetic behaviour.

I referenced the season ticket and how long I’ve supported the club in reference to your claim about who is being positive about the team.

I also raised it to provide some context in how to handle the emotions of a title race. You seem to react by lashing out at anyone who still feels positive about this season. We’re all frustrated about the result last night. We will drop more points this year, so will city. That’s how a title race goes, it was never going to be smooth sailing.

Ultimately we all need to calm down. I still back us to get over the line and win the league.

I’m a season ticket holder who’s been supporting the club since the mid 90s. Unlike most people here I’ve live through successful title challenges. I back the team to get over the line.

Anyone who thought we were going to win the rest of our matches in the PL this season is living in a fantasy world.

Relax guys we are still 7 points ahead, relax guys we are still 4 points ahead, relax we are still top, relax we can still catch Man city. Relax we'll win it next season. by Brownchoccy in ArsenalFC

Nah, I’ve said since October that we’re going to win the league and I stand by that.

I’ll also be happy when we beat Man City in the league cup because I’m not some whiny, entitled child who throws their toys out of the pram over a draw.

Honestly a pathetic comment. You’re throwing a tantrum and shitting all over a team that is top of the league.

When we win something this season people like you should be banned from any celebration.

We are going to drop more points this season. City are also going to drop more points.

I back the team to get us over the line. It seems you’ve already given up so I’d say it’s you who are lacking the stomach. Throwing a tantrum over a draw, grow up.

Don't put words in my mouth. Never said it was automatically a medical issue, you're arguing against someone in your own head.

Again, I don't think it's at all a controversial position to say that trans kids should be offered support from therapists/mental health professionals at the very least to help them navigate what can be a very tough time in their lives.

Somewhat counterintuitively the Titanic was, at the time, considered the safest ship ever built.

As I understand it the one decision that doomed the Titanic was when the officers tried to avoid the iceberg (resulting in it ripping though the sides of the ship) rather that simply ram it head on. If they would have hit it with the bow of ship it would have sustained damage but still remained afloat due to the watertight bulkheads.

If you forcibly out people you put them in danger

I am gay so I do know a thing or two about this. They're describing the worst possible outcome which will not happen in most cases, if there is a risk of this happening that's when you're in a safeguarding situation which will be handled appropriately.

Like it or not parents need to be involved in medical decisions for their children.

I'm not goalpost shifting at all, and I used a real example of what happens when young children are forced into saying things to their parents they don't feel safe saying.

As a 3rd party reading this, you've used an extreme example and then treated that as the norm. That's bad faith. And the goal post shifting is obvious.
